It wasn't mixed, that AC Milan team was awful and it got even worse when they sold Ibra and Silva. He's best achievement is somehow getting that pathetic team that he had in 2013 3rd. Not to mention he made several average players look like stars; Ballotelli, El-Sharaway and Kevin Prince Boateng. People blame him for 2014 season when it was all the owners faults, you have seen what the managers that followed went through as well.

He did the most sensible thing which was to keep the 3-5-2 and then gradually change things. I dont think im saying anything different to what your saying. We're on the same page. My point being he came in, took a winning team, took a winning formation and for first part of the season kept things rolling before tweaking and chopping changing as necessary. Sensible coach, played it safe. But then took it to a whole new level. I aint criticising him, all im saying is he played it safe for the first couple of months which aided in his success.
This is exactly what i like about Allegri, his patient approach, he calmed the tenacity down which we had with Conte. At the end it brought a system of balance. This guy deserves much praise but theres no two ways about it, his predeccessor left him a team of experienced winners, which made his life easier.

Very sensible post. The problem on Tuz is, that if you dont drop by the Allegri thread, and write "Allegri is the best coach in the world, give him a lifetime contract", but instead try's to see the nuances in thing, the Sauna boys, will get there panties all twisted and call you ridiculoss and ludacriss.
Rating coaches are going to be extremely subjektiv, for an outsider no matter how you look at it, because so much of the coaches job, are not available for the public to asses.
From my perspective both Spalletti and Sarri are better coaches than Allegri. I can see why people would argue differently, but saying they are mediocre coaches, when they are clearly respected and capable coaches is strange and over the line.

No thanks I think I will stay out of it for know. If he gets us to the final I will consider joining.
His time at Milan was mixed.
1 year - good season
2 year - had the best team finished second
3 year - good season
Last year - was 14 when he left them
Maybe you should try and read the first 20 pages of this thread and see how many rated him, when he joined us.
I'd disagree with you on that. You are right about one thing though that it is difficult to rate managers and compare managers without bringing in the team and players they have etc.
Either way For me it would be Allegri -> Sarri -> Spalletti.
It just takes a lot more to manage a bigger club and the intense pressure Allegri had to deal with. He is simply IMO 2-3 levels above the others.
Mediocre is a relative term, we all know how Ranieri was a mediocre manager before he turned out to be amazing by carrying a bunch of misfits to win the EPL. Thats a big feat even for a league like the EPL. And now his mediocre again.

Excellent how he read the match and his decisions were crucial like most of the times.
I can easily say that since Lippi, I feel safe for the first time whenever Juve play in CL. He's in-control of the match whether the team is average or big name, he knows what he wants from his players and he knows the tactics that should be applied.
For the 2nd leg against Porto, I'd like to see Marchisio from the start instead of Khedira, for cutting Porto's counter attacks and for holding the ball better.
