and lost. beating Bayern and Barcelona is nice but its just 2 games. in La Liga, when has he ever overachieved, apart from winning the league once?
Winning the league against those two + finishing above them

No one can realistically expect athletico to compete so well for that spot, its vastly overachieving

yes but thats one season. other than that, hes always been finishing 3rd, which with the 3rd best squad in the league is doing what was expected to do from him

IMO it would be ideal for Bould to take a one year sit out in the back. Bring in Allegri and let him work hand in hand with AW for a season. The next season AW moves upstairs and Bould comes back in as number 2. Just a thought.
Steve Bould is the Arsenal assistant manager :stupid:

Talking of Lippi, the list of managers who have played for him is ridiculously long. Not sure many of Fergusons former players will make in on the big stage.

Some high level ones who played under Lippi: Conte, Zidane, Deschamps and Sousa.

I remember when Roy Keane was a hot young coach when he 1st started in Sunderland (?). Solskjaer was winning the Norwegian league with some team that wasnt Rosenborg. Then i never heard of them again
