I don't think we have the midfield to play open football anymore without conceding dangerous counters. We tried to play up field before they scored and look where that got us. I think Allegri knows this and that's why we play like shit most of the time.

I don't really see a way to condemn him or applaud him tonight. He had only one option for a starting formation and he picked it. The rest was up to the players. His subs were a little nervy but I don't think they were going to affect the match one way or the other.

I do question the need to put on Chiellini after 2 or 3 times he's been re-injured. Can we protect against 10 men with only 5 minutes left?

His mentality is just disastrous. We lack aggressiveness, hunger. They strolled through the 2nd half entirely against 10 men.

I see him falling. It's eerily similar to Conte: they start aggressive, bold, confident, strong in the first year. Then they start to become more and more defensive (in approaching the team), till they get completely stubborn and conservative.

Good game, spot on tactics and subs. Love to see him giving minutes to Kean in such important game.

And I think this is the first time this season that we've looked like a proper team with a clear game plan.

Tonight we didn't. That was just perfect game. We were unlucky to fall behind early but deservedly grabbed win here.

Before the game:

"We can't beat La Liga's number three playing like this"

We play like this and win 3-1:

"Disatrous game. So underserved"
That's perfectly logical actually.

It's the same when you don't get the result but is happy with what the team showed.

Allegri needs to find an identity, and it's no easy feat, considering our midfield is still a wildcard. But we absolutely need to improve aggressiveness/grinta if we want to go anywhere in Champions League.

Whenever i get the urge to criticise him, i put myself in his shoes and realise that it has to be bloody difficult to play good football when half your team is out injured. What more can he do than this? Besided maybe shooting those responsible for our players' fitness level
