actually 352 is questionable with those midfield players. In that setup it's even more imporant to have a Vidal like player. Till now there are signs that Pjanic and Khedira can't handle it alone, we possibly need another midfielder to make it a 41212.

Exactly the funny thing is 41212 even with the players we have would fit us much better..we are burning energy in this inefficient setup and shooting ourselves in the foot.
Hoping we have time to switch systems and get used to it for CL because even with a healthy roster if we have to play this garbage system we will exit in second round.

Regardless of the scheme, one thing is for sure: Playing Higuain + Mandzukic together won't work.

If Allegri does this he's shooting his foot, specially considering Mandzukic state of form.

Max needs to find a setup where our midfield actually works. That way our forwards would actually get some service. We spent more than 120 millions on Pjanic and Higuain yet we still look like we're playing with Paro and Palladino.

You are overreacting with your comparisons. Our midfield does need some work but it's not as bad as some are making it to be.

It was more of a metaphor. It's not the fact that it's bad, it's just inefficient, or rather unbalanced. Pjanic needs to be baby-sat if he is to be played so deep. Nobody is currently doing that and it's taking a toll on his offensive output. It's one of the reasons Higuain has to feed off scraps. We've also got terrible crosses, which obviously can't help.

Overreacting for serie A? Probably. For CL? We need time to adjust to 433..You actually think this midfield will get us to the quarters let alone win it? Especially if we have to stick to 352..Manager needs to react to his team and Max reaction to fix this midfield is very slow.

+1 Pjanic job is go forward, this is being sacrificed for I dont know what, khedira being playmaker? He is getting forward as much or more than pjanic, who in reality should be behind strikers. Hell even 343 would work better than this IF we HAVE to play 3 at the back.

+1 Pjanic job is go forward, this is being sacrificed for I dont know what, khedira being playmaker? He is getting forward as much or more than pjanic, who in reality should be behind strikers. Hell even 343 would work better than this IF we HAVE to play 3 at the back.

As I said the midfield does need some work but I'm sure it'll improve as the season goes on and there is the January window to improve it further if needed.

I'm not going to predict our CL chances this early but I'd be very disappointed if we don't make the quarters no matter who we play in the midfield winning it is always difficult and lot of factors come to play.

Our midfield is weaker yes but at the same time, we arent taking full advantage of our abilities and that's the managers job..when you have Higuain you dont play a system you would play when you had llorente who could hold the ball up and wait for the team to crawl forward then lay it off and get in the box for a header with no other abilities. Conte had to do it, Max doesn't.
Higuain has it all, we can be a very very good counter attack team, top 3.. but when 352 system requires pressing you don't have space to counter and kill teams with speed, which we have in abundance. That's one strength we don't Tap into often. Add not having proper mids and pjanic out of place and what is the purpose of this 352. When you play a one dimensional system you shoot yourself in the foot. Allegri needs to be better, at this level, more guts to try things..not judgement, just fact.

We played 3-5-2. The only difference is how offensive Allegri allowed the team to position, make runs and press.


But i'm very glad you liked the 3-5-2 when played this way

Offcourse, we always play 3-5-2. But we wont be nearly as aggressive

With offensive wingbacks 3-5-2 is much more bearable. Bayern were amazing with Ribery and Robben on wings.

Ribery and Robben dont play as wingbacks, they had amazing fullbacks to support them.

Maybe, I am not sure anymore. Could of been temporary because of some injuries, but I do remember them playing Ribery and Robben wide and Lahm in midfield.
