Just realism. I don't mean on a season by season basis. At the top end money is what keeps you consistent and challenging every season - the ability to buy the best players. If not then it becomes cyclical and you have to constantly evolve. If we started to lose players for huge fees you'd see the kind of thing I mean.
but we are already significantly richer than several 'few seasons wonder' teams in the past few years that got into european finals (including europa), so downplaying our club like that is in reality :sergio: and does not fit the history of this club.

Sure, but history is totally irrelevant to your current capabilities. It meant nothing when we had 7th placed teams with Poulsen and Almiron and <€200m turnover, just as it means nothing for clubs like Liverpool, Inter, Milan and others right now, never mind those even worse off.

I suppose our goal is the self-sufficience of Bayern, but as Agnelli pointed out, they are a different financial level and we are aiming for a top 5 turnover at best.

Radarbola; a Brazilian sports website listed their top 10 coaches of 2015 (So far) and guess who's in it? :allegri:

1. Carlo Ancelotti
2. Diego Simeone
3. Laurent Blanc
4. Pep Guardiola
5. Massimiliano Allegri
6. Vincenzo Montella
7. Leonardo Jardim
8. Dieter Hecking
9. José Mourinho
10. Luis Enrique
What is Ancelotti, Simeone, Blanc and Guardiola doing there ahead of Allegri?

And Mourinho shouldn't be top 10, or at least should be behind Luis Enrique. RO16 CL exit and embarrassing FA Cup exit doesn't mask leading a PL with no one else who wants to win it. League Cup win - it's half the prestige of the Coppa Italia.

Basically they just have to include a PL manager, and no one else has been impressive enough to be noteworthy (Koeman, Allardyce and Pardew have most over achieved). Mourinho has an immense squad at his disposal.

what I mean is that we already richer than the likes of bilbao sevilla atletico and dortmund; and while we are still poorer than EPL top 4 and PSG, I can't see our players wanting to switch to any of those clubs except those under specific circumstances like pogba, the only real big boys capable to hijack our players are the 2 spanish and bayern... true that all of them can hijack our transfer targes as they had done so these past few years, however amazingly we still capable to find fantastic deals season by season.

with that in mind then, this season has proven that the gap can also get eliminated with the correct players, correct attitude, tactics and play style... we are always one of real's achilles heel so we can always have some confidence to beat them, and then seeing our late performance we have no reason to fear any EPL side + PSG + atletico; it's only barcelona and to somewhat lesser extend bayern nthat we are truly in disadvantage against.

so stop thinking like conte.

Starting from 2016,the 20th place team in EPL will earn as much or very near to what the best Italian team earns in broadcasting revenue.20th placed team.
Just to give you some perspective,If Juve can afford one Dybala,Arsenal can afford three Dybala's.The economic gap is going to be significant unless something drastic happens. So yes, money matters if we have to consistently make semis and beyond. You're not always going to hit the jackpot with low cost transfers.
So i wont be too sure of our players not being poached by the EPL bigwigs in the future. We have to hope to achieve something extraordinary in Europe if we want to reduce the gap. This season is probably the best time to do so,dont think we'll get an easier path to a CL semi than this yr.

I agree that we have to keep looking upwards, however my point is that there is still a gap of 3-4 teams who maybe not only desire but expect to be continual CL finalists, we aren't quite at level yet. What I like about us is that we seem to have that mentality where maybe as a club we know we have something to improve from the economical aspect, but on the pitch we are brave.

But as I said, you determine that over seasons, not one season of domestic success and a CL QF.

That sig is not nearly as bad as the insane amount of bs you posted during the summer in Marotta's, Morata's, Pereyra's threads, etc... Bringing Tevez at that time was impossible, but Gio, eventhough later proved not to be adequate signing for this club, was far more realistic considering the position this club had been in.

Quote him on it and see if anything comes close to Cheesio's sig.

You won't have to go far, probably even in this thread you'll find something juicy. I seldom like to bring up old posts, as it is pointless. Most of us have been wrong on multiple occasions and being oportunistic isn't my thing.

Congratulations to Allegri for doing this well lately. I was very impressed by the way he handled Dortmund but the Viola away game gave me simply no hope of proceeding further, especially with Tevez out. I have nothing but praise for the guy even though I was against hiring him from day one and very pessimistic up until the outcome against Dortmund. In half a year he took us from being the worst counter attacking big team out there to the one that actually is very good at it. The change in mentality is also visible. I love the fact we're doing so much better when pressed now, building the attacks from the back and often managing to move it forward instead of giving the ball away all the time which was typical for Conte's Juve.

I'm hungry for more now, don't disappoint me :p In all honesty I'm forced to call him a success here already as I requested him to win the scudetto and get past Dortmund a few months ago. He's almost there.

You brought it up on your own and thats why I quoted you, how come its suddenly so pointless? Genuinly corious since you say its not only comparable but worse then your old statements. Acquirring minds want to know :)
