Definitely the Allegri appointing is a very dangerous gamble...but it seems we were hand tied on this...as no experienced coach was available.

What i think, is that the board looked at him as someone , lets say "more maleable".. to not say a puppet, yet. What i mean?....just look at why the problem with Conte started. uit started because he was winning scudettos but he wanted to compete in the CL with high profile-top notch buys which we would be never able to deliver. The board had diferent ideas..and they instead were aiming for a more steady growth financially before commiting heavy dollars, but Conte had other plans..and when those plans werent fulfilled , he raged and then happened what happened yesterday.

IM pretty sure that with Allegri, things went on this lines : "Listen man...we are not going to spend like madmen because we have a financial aim for next year...we just need you to help us achieve that and serve as a bridge this season...we need you to continue winning and bring us a better run at the CL, and then, if you do good..maybe youll be able to stay. But for now... lets try to find opportunity players that you would like to use. SO please understand this."

He's not as bad as everyone makes him seem. He is way more proven than Conte was when he was appointed. I know we all loved Conte and we're going to miss him, and Allegri is such a controversial manager to come in because he's fresh out of Milan, but when given quality he has delivered. We have a quality core of players: Buffon, Chiellini, Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez, etc.

My biggest and maybe my only worry with him...is how he will cope with the amount of champions we have. Im prettys ure that right now, even some of the players are like "wtf? this man? seriously?". So, the key point for him...wil not even be on a tactical level...it would be to convince the players to win for him, and to stay united, to believe in him.

Thats his biggest chalenge.

Im pretty sure that, even if by the end of the season Allegri does good.... if our board find an opportunity like Deschamps or any other high profile dude..... they will pay the extra year to Allegri and give him a goodbye kiss.

In fact.. i think this is the plan.

That 2 year deal was pretty surely because Allegri didnt wanted to feel like fodder and asked for some insurances...so to lure him in the trap..the board had to agree with a 2 year deal and then suck up the loss money when axing him.

Allegri knew that a one year deal is a dead end. He needed to make them give him a 2 year contract.
