This is.

Conte deserved credit to get best potensial from barzagli, pirlo, marchisio, etc.

But, conte was not responsible about flop one like isla, elia, krasic, gio etc

And about sub.

Allegri did not know how to use depth player.
In fact against olympiakos he sub on llorente, turn game, and in the end we won.

And conte used depth player very well with using 8 starter players againt sassuolo in wed pitch before benfica game.

Good things -----> Conte
Bad things ------> marotta, allegri, bonucci, pereyra, 100 euro restaurant, etc
Yeah he is not responsible for their flopping. They are all terrible players that has since failed to even be mediocre players.
He even made ends meet with the likes of Giacherrini, Estegbarria and matri/quag.

I am a big fan of marotta by the way I dont know why you think I don't like him. He is one of the best GMs around. He signed Conte and Allegri and built a very good squad for peanuts. Also bonnucci its now a top player not a flop.

Who said anything about depth? You are putting words in my mouth then responding to them?

He didn't build this team for peanuts. We have been one of the biggest spenders in Europe, it's just that he got a lot of players instead of a few.

Anyone anti-board :D
I'm not anti-board.Just because i'm not part of this 'epic' Marotta dicksucking campaign, doesnt mean i hate the management.Ofcourse i've offered criticisms but thats a different debate.Whereas you and others, you have no middle ground like someone said. You always have to exaggerate just to get your points across. Its either black or white for you guys.

Coming to why this debate surfaced, maybe Hist phrased it poorly but i dint find anything overly wrong in what he posted. Both Barzagli and Pirlo were coming off terrible seasons when we signed them,so much so that they had been written off and labeled past it by many ppl as opposed to a certain person here with a different narrative saying 'we signed one of the best defenders in BL'.Its no surprise we got both for cheap.
And Marchisio was indeed looking like an average player before Conte came in.

To summarize,Marotta made excellent signings and help build a foundation to the team but it was Conte who gave the impetus.Been across many forums(including this one) and before the season started(in 2011) people were just hoping for a top 3 finish. No one saw a scudetto winning campaign coming.

Such short memory and retrospect.

How about we look at the early barzagli, and Pirlo threads?

Barzagli was let go by wolfsburg and was only a regular during his first season there and then was slowly replaced by other mediocre defenders. He was then let go basically for free. Please lets not pretend anyone was thinking he is a worldclass defender or that he is a great steal back then. I can't argue with you if you hold that Barzagli was always a very good player. Barzagli was a nobody.

Similarly, Pirlo was finished, injured and old. Conte got him back to his best form and it is Conte's greatest move. None of us thought we are getting the world's best central midfielder and certainly no one thought he would be the most important player for us and Italy for the next 2 years.

Marchisio was never a great footballer in any sense under ranieri. He had some okay games here and there but nothing special. Conte got the best out of him like no other coach did before.

Bonnuci was another insane flop that Conte completely transformed and made him part of one of the strongest defensive units in Europe. Or was he world class too?
As I've previously said the opinion of an average tuzzer bears no significance when evaluating players. If you need to read what others think of someone before passing your judgment the discussion with you is futile.

Both Pirlo and Barza were excellent players, only needed to stay free of injuries. Barzagli was rather briliant under Del Neri (half a year) as well. Despite our overall defense being in shambles you could have seen his defensive capabilities.

Bonucci was never a WC defender, but lately under Allegri's guidance he's been showing some signs that he'll become one, maybe.
Pretending that our squad was good in Conte's first season is pure hating on the big man.
lol. Delusion.

Allegri is not incompetent and he didn't appreciate Pirlo.
Reading is underrated here. Free of injuries, of course as I pointed out.

We were in Serie B man and we had an incredibly incompetent management team for 3 years. Since Agnelli took over, how much did we spend and how does that compare to the results of other teams that spend around our level? I doubt anyone achieved the kind of footballing success and financial growth that we did over the last few years.

I am arguing with the average tuzzer right now and so your opinions of 4-5 years ago are what concerns me. I seriously doubt that back then you thought we were making two "brilliant" signings. If you did, then I'll bow to you for having such an amazing eye for under-performing talent.

Agnelli, Marotta and even Conte himself said we won 2 years ahead of schedule and that they never dreamed of these results. But you ofcoarse knew it was going to happen... after all you knew we were buying two world class players that just struggled for a season with injuries and their clubs were completely blind to their imminent football explosion.

And yes, Inter's current squad is at least at the same level as our old 2011 squad.
