There is no worse feeling for a football fan than the conviction that the coach, the man at the helm is a stubborn idiot. Then it becomes clear that no lineup, no transfer, no money, no recovery from injury will change anything in the season anymore. This stage is total resignation. You already know that the man is not improving and how it will end.

Then comes the countdown until the team starts playing against the coach. Then another countdown before the owners notice it, send out the first signals of hope for change. Then waiting for the ultras to speed up their decisions. Brief moments of relief when names of possible successors emerge. Finally blaspheming the coach through all possible channels, humiliating your own dignity by enjoying the media lynching him - all in the hope that he will resign himself, even though they never do...

It usually takes a whole season. We are only at the first stage.
So at what stage are we now? I found myself being afraid that the Kean's header would go in, so probably on the last one.

There is no way Allegri the stubborn mule will part with any of his salary. He knows he is never gonna coach a team again after this.
The leverage of the club is to give the coach a fighting chance. The leverage of the coach is the remaining salary. Given how almost all coaches are hopelessly, obsessively competitive, Allegri included, surely some sort of trade is possible. Otherwise we're truly fucked with Allegris contract.

If Allegris choice is to rescind free 9m a year to return to coaching, he's surely not doing that. If he's a free man, he'll get a gig sooner or later.

Wow what the hell is that? De Sciglio not even on the pitch, McKennie thinks he’s a CF, 4 players playing the same position. it’s obvious that these players are terrible but also that they are not being given any instruction on what to do.

Very underwhelmed by the names being linked, Tudor, Carrera, Montero… Really no point in replacing him if we’re not going to bring a serious manager in. Let’s not just pick at scraps, we have to be strategic
Monza looks like prime Barca there with their triangle passing lanes but looking at our players position, seems Allegri were trying to make 'dinosaur' passing lanes

Says it all though doesn’t it. Our players literally only know how to pass to one teammate.

The thing is, if his instruction is ‘just go and play’ you would expect them to be less structured. He is literally making his players even worse - ‘Kostic - Just pass to Vlahovic, no one else’

unpopular opinion: i actually liked de zerbi when he was sassuolo coach and saw him one day stepping up to coaching one of the big italian clubs, maybe even going to some big foreign clubs. looks like a coach looking to carve a name for himself. i wanted him here since then

:agree:

Yeah I rated him too. He seemed like he needed one more move before stepping to a big club. He made a brave choice with Shakhtar, no idea how he performed there.

This reminds me of Ferrara, Del Neri era. Fucking depressing.
Nah, this squad is much better. We totally suck and are still relatively close to the top of the table.

We need a coach with a strong spine that will try to implement a modern approach to the game. What Allegri has been implementing is not football but some other (ugly) sport. Once someone else instills more brave and modern approach, we should be way higher in the table. Yes, our players are that much superior to majority of Serie A teams.

Against Monza, Slaernitana and Sampdora - the three relegation battlers we got 2 points out of 9? That's a fucking joke.

This team needs proper coaching, because they are not phenomena by any means. Still, good enough to fight for the top places and probably even the title.

Oh and fix the fitness staff, for fucks sake. Here the club should spend top money just to take one of the best in the game.

I said it and ill repeat it....we sre screwed unless we get a big name coach...we have accomplished nothing if we bring any of the forementioned names
Do we really need big name though? We just need someone good enough to lead this team to Scudetto and instill that winning mentality.
Like what Conte did back then. This league is weak as fuck so it shouldn't be daunting task to win Scudetto

Forget about CL, that's not priority right now cause we won't win it anytime soon with this squad and the likes of Madrid or Bayern still going strong.
