Not even all social media put together can't keep up with some of the posts and opinions that you get to read on tuZ after drawing a game due to two unprecedented goals conceeded from major goalkeeper mistakes.

Quite sad how some would wish and hope for us to lose or stumble just so they can continue pushing forward their narratives.

There is a lethargic approach in this squad for 2 years now. Usually 2-3 players simply fall asleep or brainfart and you have a minnow team winning against us or drawing.

It will take time before you drill in grinta and 'die for every ball' attitude...

I think even Allegri underestimated how fucked up some players are in this squad.

This is why you absolutely need players like De Ligt, Chiello, American and Ronaldo to stay. You need these warriors as an example. You need players that will run in front of the group in training. I remember this is something Conte talked about when he was a player and captain. He was the one always running in front of the squad even in most simple training sessions. That's one of the ways to push rest of the squad to always do more.

This is Udinese as our opponent, If this is a top half or pretty good middle table team, we will witness the game like 2-4 against AC Milan under Sarri
Yes, we will if Scezsny continues with his blunders. But we pretty much controlled the game and conceded only thanks to our GK, not because we were inferior.

However I agree that we must improve our performances, but it's the only first game of the season.

Considering the difference in quality of sides we should not have allowed then this much space. Even in the first half they had a lot of ball. Granted, they couldn’t do much with it but I’d say we have to save this “absorb pressure” tactic for bigger sides. We should dominate the minnows.

We actually dominated with just a minor note in first half, dont know what happen in the 2nd half. If we can put Udinese and Genoa in the same par, then what Inter does to Genoa can be categorically perfecto

Possession was 53/47 in the first half per SofaScore. That’s not dominating. Our 2nd goal was a classic counter too.

Keep fighting the good fight bro.
This is the screenshot. everything shows a balanced encounter in the first half. We were up 2-0 because of the quality of our attackers. they lacked that quality and needed our keeper to perform a shit show.
It might be fine for one match but it wasn’t a sign of great things to come either.

Wait, I actually thought I was replying to Snobist  These Berna avatars

But yeah. No doubt, it wasn't a great performance at all. But it's only the first game of the season. If I gave even Sarri half a season to improve, Max surely deserves time as well.

Watched the game again and got even angrier at Woj lol. Wasted such a good effort by the rest of the squad to the point people are nitpicking the second half like Udinese actually threatened.

Anyways, my main takeaway were some of the runs our mids were making off the ball. Haven’t seen that since Allegri left. Bentancur in particular made multiple runs into box. Reminded me of Khedira before he broke down. The first goal was a good example of it.

One possibility that intrigues me is finding a pure DM (Tchouameni? Maybe even Danilo if we’re looking at internal options) and allowing Loca to make similar runs. I know his strength as a deep lying playmaker but there is a part of me that wonders if Allegri has plans to use him like Pogba. We saw at the Euros how dangerous he can be in a more attacking role.
