The crazy thing is that he has been available all season and we've ignored him.

Sums up our mismanagement.
Maybe he wasn't?

He wanted things to go his way - AA said no and that's when the separation happened.

I'd assume that Allegri had his conditions, maybe one of them was 'I won't take a team in the middle of the season'?

Just guessing now, I can't see how this hasn't happened yet.

Allegri in pole per il Real.

Di Marzio
Smart.

Although I don't see why Zidane would leave them and come here or risk being unemployed in this time. It was different back when he first left w/o COVID and he still came back ASAP.

I think (or hope) Zidane is going to take a look around and realize he's at Real Madrid and there are much worse gigs out there and stay.

is it down to zidane though...

i have a feeling that perez already made a decision and allegri will take over regardless of zidane's intentions. :boh:

From what I've understood from reports Perez really wants him to stay. I don't think his job is in danger at all.

Even Romano said 'Zidane will decide his future at the end of the season'.

Fwiw I think EL increases chances of Max coming back. If we qualify for CL Zidane may look at us and say 'oh well I still have CR, I can convince him to stay, I can probably attract Pogba who I've wanted for years at RM, I can do my magic in CL'. But if we're in EL and have to sell half the team including CR why bother leaving RM for that?

This is assuming Zidane is the first choice ofc. Agnelli or whoever is in charge may still prefer Max.

Reals squad is a mess as well, they're running on the fumes of what remains of that 3peat team and struggling to replace their core players. Max is walking into another Juventus 2018/19 situation only with stronger competition and hardly any knowledge about the other teams of the league. The easy thing for him would be taking over at Juve, but he'll probably want the challenge of Madrid.

Yeah, but Real's mess compared to ours is like Bill Gates worrying about his divorce and an average car salesman worrying about his. With all the miles Kroos-Casemiro-Modrić is still a WC midfield. And they have Valverde, Odegaard and Rodrygo coming up. Benzema is a WC forward still and they have Mbappe/Haaland if not both coming this/next summer. Ramos is WC and they have Alaba coming, Militao really coming into his own. They need a face lift and we need a complete face restructuring because we blew our face off with a shotgun.

If it's between us and RM Allegri is not making that mistake a second time.
