Allegri: 'Best Juve game was defeat'
Football Italia
Max Allegri discussed man-management, irritation with the “theory” part of football and why the best Juventus performance of the season was a defeat to Manchester United.
He was speaking at the presentation of his new book, ‘E Molto Semplice’ – It’s very simple – and explained why this was not just a book for football experts.
“I don’t write about tactics or techniques in this book, because in Italy everyone seems to know about those. Some even know more than me,” smiled Allegri.
“I think it’s a book that can help you understand how to deal with certain situations, not just in football. For example, it’s about human resources, which are fundamental whether you are a Coach or the manager of a company.
“Often nowadays, a Coach has to be a psychologist. He also has to follow his instinct. At times, I get asked these questions about strategy and it makes me irritable, because I believe far more in perceiving the game as it’s developing, understanding various moments and what needs to be done.

“It’s difficult to describe, because in those moments, either you’ve got it or you don’t. The rest is just theory, because you can prepare all you like, but once the game starts and things happen, your strategy must change and you throw everything you worked on during the week out the window.

“At that point, what matters is what’s in your gut, as well as courage.”

Juve crashed out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals against Ajax, but had some highlights in the tournament this season.

“Valencia, Manchester United, and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League were three great games. With Valencia, we went down to 10 men, and that was when the true Juve DNA came out, concentration, aggression.

“We wanted to prove that even after Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off, we could still win. Then against Manchester United, it was probably our best game, but nobody remembers it because we lost.

“We threw it away at the end, and that just shows you, that in football you don’t win if you only play 85 minutes.

“It was better than our performance against Atletico, because against the Spanish side we didn’t play as well, but we took all of our chances. In that match, we had nothing to lose and everything to win.

“Those were all different games, two of which we won and the other, which was our best performance of the season, we lost.

“I say this because no match is the same as the last, every situation is different, every season different. It is not an exact science, because who knows if the best Juve player of this year will be the best player of next season?"
Now he needs to explain why the fuck our best performance of the season was in November :sergio:

He says our best game of the season was the one we lost to Manchester. So why he didn't use that system and tactics after that game anymore ? We should have built on it.
Instead he went back to his comfort zone and started Manzu again with Dyabla as a right winger, 3 striker system that never worked.

This all on him. And I'm so disappointed, because i believe we had the potential to repeat what we did in 2015 and 2017 after United game.

i think he is tired of all the criticism. wouldn't be surprised if the questions over his future are not because of the boards doubts but his own uncertainty over staying.

Maybe he thinks he will be treated fairer by the media if he went to England.

He'll get his ass kicked by the English media as well unless he manages a club outside the top 6

Not if he is doing well.
That depends on the club he's managing and the objectives of that particular club.

He will be coming to England with a reputation of winning and if he doesn't live up to that, no media will spare him regardless of the circumstances.

Pep for example got crucified in his first year in England before he bounced back. English media will hold Allegri to the same standards.

Again all depends on the club he will be managing if he were to, hypothetically speaking.

I called it out when we quit Coppa that he lost his plot.
It was obvious this team would get slaughtered eventually. I myself couldn't hide my worries and started posting in this thread in around November , what i got in return?
As always pro Allegri's answered with full of ego, shut up we are in 3 competitions, the team is great and these games are not important, we are saving energy for second half of the season....

And after getting our ass beaten by various teams we hear new excuses. Like teams that beaten us have better squad! And suddenly all of players are shit and don't deserve the holiness of true savior Allegri!

Sometimes i think myself mabe we are
A team like Roma that winning the league with this squad is some kind of magic that only this guy is capable of doing it.

He is just like his last dayes in Milan.stupid line ups, fighting with players, losing games left and right and become too stubborn to change anything. And the funny thing is he believed he would continue his work at Milan just like right now.

losing games left and right?
we have lost 8 games this whole season between serie a, copa and cl
2 of those were in the group stage where we still came first
people are speaking like we are in a relegation battle

It's much easier to change coach than half a team tho. We've looked clueless and devoid of ideas for a long time now. Even when we were winning, we were doing it unconvincingly. We've been playing some terrible football and were finally exposed in the CL (before that in the coppa against Atalanta, but that game was hardly as high profile or significant).
