Wouldn't mind Matuidi off the bench, no point having him start if we ever want to play some technical football though.
Exactly. If you want to use him as a breaker or like a game sealer like we used barzagli when he was actually better, then fine. Barzagli was really good when we wanted to shut down games in the past, coming from the bench inthe last 20 mins or so, In those games he wasnt a starter.

We can use matuidi the same way if we are leading like 2 0 or if we need more muscle on midfield to shut games down.

But please dont use him from the beggining. His lack of football is too aparent and it gets bolded in this juventus midfield.

We need to get in the habit of being ruthless and spanking the teams in the league by 3-4 goals every game, that builds confidence and it's good practice for the big games when we have to attack, playing this calculated pragmatic football is just making us stand still. Team has to be able to press high up the pitch to win the ball back for a quick transition into attack and has to be better at counter attacking when we win the ball back in our own half

All the most successful teams press high up the pitch, it worked very well for us against Real Madrid and almost got us into the semi finals, that has to be a priority when selecting new players to come in as well as sorting out the Dybala Higuain problem

What do you think about Matuidi and Pjanic with Bentancur as regista? Gets Khedira off the field and also keeps muscle while adding more of a threat up the field while still having strength and more passing ability. Could be interesting but not sure if Pjanic could step in there right away

Would be worth to see, as betan is a hardworker but has good passes in him and has a good age to run his socks off without getting spend in 45 mins, and pjanic is good on his day. Matuidi could be the destroyer.

Any combination that doesnt mix matuidi and khedira could be potentially better, because none of those 2 offer anything to juve when in possesion.

I've advocated for the 3 man midfield since Conte started using before he switched to a 352. Makes a huge difference.
Sorry for using your quote in this discussion, this is not because Ive seen you mention this before, but a general notion.

But the thing I hear most in this forum is a debate of '2 man midfield vs 3 man midfield'. We have played most of the season with 3 men in midfield and we have sucked, hard! Playing these 3 midfielders that Allegri prefers, limits us so much, especially the way we play it! Yet people still think it is just a matter of how the formation looks on paper, how many players do we have on the field whos preferred position in FM says 'CM'.
It might change if we get other midfielders but as I see it, it is not really a matter of formations, but more a matter of mindset, general tactics and playing with our best performing players.

I completely agree with @MikeM about our players in midfield not being up to playing at this level at all (Matuidi, Pjanic, Khedira). Why play 3 limited players instead of just 2 then and then use our strengths instead of trying to cover up a huge weakness. Pjanic is my new player to question, after Max seems to have finally realized that Mandzukic, Lichtsteiner (took 2 seasons) and Marchisio were our limitations and should get limited time. Im not sure we can afford to play with Pjanic unless he steps up. He has his skills and passing abilities, but he is also often one of the first ones to give up and fuck up when things are not working. However for now of course he is the strongest we have in mid, together with Bentancur. Bentancur and Khedira played really well together though and I would be interested in seeing that midfield pairing again.
Although headless, Matuidi seems like the most constructive player out of Pjanic and Khedira, as he atleast runs. So it is really a puzzle who to play. Thats why I think we should maximum play 2 of these CM fuckers and then use cover from Cuadrado and/or Bernardeschi on the field (with Bentancur) to simply improve our passing and technical abilities and be more aggressive!

You can tell by Dybala's reaction that they don't have a great relationship
I remember months ago when i was saying this, but some here were saying i was inventing shid. Its palpable the tension between those 2.

I knew something was wonky since dybala had those weird outburst of rage against allegri last season. Theres no way you can be ok with a coach and disrespect him live on TV not once but twice. I have seen players who are in shid terms with their coaches and they just go to the bench when getting subbed and dont say shid about it... Dybala went that far to even respond to alegri on his way out and blatantly ignoring him in a very disrespectful way in another sub.

No charges for Allegri tape | Football Italia

It’s reported the FIGC has decided Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri has no charges to answer in the Paolo Tagliavento controversy.

The Bianconeri won 3-2 at Inter on Saturday night, but there was controversy after Miralem Pjanic wasn’t shown a second yellow card in the second half.

As fourth official Tagliavento walked through the mixed zone, Allegri talked about the performance of referee Daniele Orsato: “It went really well… He was so good… Promote him!”.

ANSA reported that Federation Prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro had asked to view this footage to see if there was anything untoward, but Sky is now reporting that no investigation will be opened.

Percoraro viewed the footage and decided not to proceed with an investigation, as there was no suggestion of any rules being broken.

Another clip which went viral is claimed to show Tagliavento saying “adesso nel recupero vinciamo” or “now we’ll win in extra-time”.

However, it’s more likely he was saying “quanto recupero facciamo?” meaning “how much extra-time do we give?”.

I think the same has happened with Alex Sandro as well. He's quite full-on as a coach, not in the intense way Conte is but he can blow up.

Diddums, it's not a club for players who want to be mollycoddled.
South American players so sensitive sometimes. Being paid millions of $ per year to listen to coach and can't stop acting like temperamental preteens

Shame cause I never got that impression from either Sandro or Dybala in the beginning.

haven't noticed any tension with Alex Sandro. I figured he's just sulking because he didn't get his big money move

You just love a generalisation don't you? :disagree:

I can maybe buy the coach being a problem for an attacking player but a fullback? All Allegri ever did was play him non-stop at LB last year, what more can the player ask for?
