I don’t know why some people care about the age of our players. I wouldn’t care if all of our players were 40 years old, as long as we are winning our games. As usual with these same whinging, nagging faggots on this forum, if Allegri doesn’t play their “favourites” they criticise him. It’s beyond pathetic.

And the funniest thing? He’s wrong anyway. Max is one of the few Italian managers (of a top team) who gives a chance to youngsters (he debuted a 16 year old Kean FFS), he just likes to gradually introduce them.
And bet your ass on that the same people will be the first to bitch, should we lose a game in which Max starts all of their beloved youngsters.

And the sad part is we already know they won't be bitching about the young players. They will be bitching about how Allegri can't train offensive movements, and is a terrible tactical coach when it comes to attacking movements.

I can see wanting Berna to play more. But complaining about Rugani when you have Benatia-Chiellini, easily best in Italy, definitely top 3 or 5 in the world, is kind of illogical.

Rugani could have played today, sure. And if we lost because he's not as good as Benatia what then? Fire coach right.

Same people that were bitching when, before our change to 4-3-2-1 we were the top scoring team in the league but defense was leaky.

I could see these clowns complaining if we had a 33 year old Ronaldo banging in goals for us, if it interferes with the playing time of the Pjacas of this world.
There is a huge gulf in quality between Pjaca and Ronaldo.

There is no gap in quality between Bernardeschi and say, Mandzukic. The only reason to why one of them plays every game and the other is rotting on the bench is because apparently 24 is way too young to be a professional footballer.

It will be February by our next game and Bernardeschi has played 656 minutes. That’s Sturaro level game time. Dybala and Cuadrado are both injured and he still cannot get off the bench.

What grinds my gears about this Bernardeschi situation is that whenever he has played, he’s looked good. Berna has started only 4 league games for us this season, and in 3 of them he was arguably our best player. He is on the bench because Allegri is a pragmatic coward.

Last season Berna scored 14 goals for Fiorentina. He is celebrating his 24th birthday in a few weeks. He is not some youngster like Kean, he is an established top player in Serie A who is rotting on the bench.

He is rotting on the bench for who? Not world class players like Messi or Neymar. He is on the bench for Higuain-Mandzukic, those two must play every single game together until the end of time because apparently that is necessary.

Notice how you didn’t use the word “better”, good job.

Yeah, we know that Mandzukic is older and has played at the highest level for longer; but is he - in 2018 - actually a better footballer than Bernardeschi?

Out of our 6 forwards, I would say that Dybala is the only one who stands out as a cut above the rest. The other five are all roughly the same level, with Berna having the highest ceiling.

They offer different qualities. I didn't say "better" because its so vague and I believe Bernardeschi will prove himself to be a worthwhile acquisition but it counts for little so far when he hasn't shown it yet. Hard to say he is "better" when Mandzukic has had such an illustrious career, has undoutedbly proven himself across numerous teams in numerous top leagues. Sure, age helps but still.

Mandzukic is more experienced and is obviously the more likely to start in big games this season, but that’s not the point I’m making. In 2018, Bernardeschi is just as good at football as Mandzukic. Therefore it makes absolutely no sense to run Mandzukic into the ground by starting him every game (even against smaller teams) while Berna rots on the bench.
