Poor first half but looked like a different team in the 2nd one, better movement and more agressive. good result and prolly secured 2nd round after this.

After minute 80

What a provincial mentality

This is why we will never win CL

'Let's protect the point instead of going for the kill'
It gets funny reading this because the same rubbish has continually got us far in the CL. We aren't protecting a point in CL finals, it's a completely different thing. This group stage nonsense however is continual.

Don't know what his team talk was today but they were dreadful in the first half.

He has the players for 4-2-3-1 but too often we aren't playing it. I'm not sure if he is compensating for our weakness at RB but it seems like too often Cuadrado is being asked to play next to our RB and Dybala at the RW spot. The opposition then can play a high line as Dybala and Mandzukic on the wings isn't really going to stretch them. We did the same vs Milan.

You saw in the second half that we started with Cuadrado further up on the RW and Dybala central and we finally caused problems for them. Sporting had to sit back and space opened up for Pjanic and Higuain.

He needs to be braver and start with 4-2-3-1 and play it properly. We play into the opposition's hands if we don't.

Oh please. Context is needed. This is bloody sporting Lisbon who barely disturbed us in the 2nd half. We're not talking about Barcelona here.

Again, provincial thinking. Depending on how our performance goes against Barca, we've yet again left it to match day 5 and 6 to decide our group stage qualification outcome. And this time we won't get any easy draw in the R16 (provided we make it) as we would finish 2nd.

I think he needs to stop with this 4-2-3-1, it just doesn't provide the coverage for our defence. Even not with Cuadrado playing so close to his RB and Mandzukic as a LW. Too fragile. We need to go 4-3-3 or 5-2-3 but at this point it's not right to play Dybala-Higuain central considering they have to little impact all-game.

Buffon
MDS - Rugani - Chiellini - Alex Sandro
Khedira - Pjanic - Matuidi
Dybala (Bernardeschi) - Higuain - Mandzukic (Douglas Costa)
