I'm liking what he is doing with Higuain and Dybala.

They seemed to be interchanging who is dropping deep and who is furthest forward. I think it will really benefit Dybala and the team. Higuain probably won't score as many, but makes us more unpredictable.
And we will look even better and more unpredictable if we put Bernardeschi in and Higuain drops all the way to the bench.

I just wanna know how Genoa scored two goals in the first ten minutes.
Luck and defensive fuck ups.

Can we at least have an educated talk on what he is doing so that we dont just say this player is good! PLay him! We sound like paarents who never played at their childs game. Only thing missing is everyone constantly yelling shoot.

We have an extremely deep team this season more than any other season in our recent past. We are well balance and have a great squad but a few things could hurt us if we want to get to the top. These things have nothing to do with Cuadrado or Mandzukic not being fast or great offensively or whatever everyone on this forum seems to think.

What made us a top team last year was how good we were at defending. Not just our backline but as a team. We let very few chances even get to us and everyone pulled their weight. There was no weakness to exploit most of the time. This season it looks like our right side could struggle as we lost 2 world class players. Arguably the best in their position. So the main priority for max is to protect the defense and get a solid unit and then to build on that.

One of the oldest truths in soccer, but much more recently as the tiki taki made its force known and possesion was not something you could win off Barca but also Bayrn with pep or a few other teams, is possesion vs position.

We dont need to win both of these but we better win one of them. We have gotten very good at controling the position on the field in which we allow other teams to play. Even in the first half against Madrid we controlled it fairly well but then in the second Madrid coplately controlled posesion and where they were going to have it. Having said that this is Maxs biggest priority. Can we control the game both offensively and defensively and if not which will we rely on?

Eventually we will integrate our wingers more and probably start them but for now our priority is our back line and finding a cm to partner Pjanic. We can say that Max doesnt start new players or play them which is true but there is one player that is getting time just a day after he arrived and that is Matuidi. He is something we desperately need. We have to break up attacks and have the ability to press midfields at times.

Max:

1.) Cut the shit with Cuadrado. Bench
2.) Stop playing Mario as a winger. Bench Higuain if you must and put mario up top or bench him. I don't care. Play with real wingers.
3.) Matuidi is a must and if you can't see that then you are growing senile. Khedira needs benched with Cuadrado and/or Higuain/Mario.

Change formation or fucking play with wingers.
1. Scored a goal
2. Assisted that goal
3. He played.

People should realize that instead of telling Max what to do, they should try to justify his decisions, find motives. He's the damned coach and you're nothing more than posters. Cuadrado is clearly not in top condition yet but how you want to get him into one if he won't be playing? His goal was decisive today.

The front 4 give us many possibilities. I like it how Higuain and Mandzo are playing long balls towards Dybala and Cuad who are running into spaces. Everybody is expecting for it to be other way around and it catches the opposition by surprise. In the first half Perin saved Genoa but in the second half we scored using this tactic.

But I still think we should cross more towards both Mandzo and Higuain, especially when CB's aren't that tall or strong.

1.) 6 months of poor performance suddenly get erased by 1 goal?
2.) Great, bench Higuain until he decides to hit some regular form again. Play him in his natural position where he will be more useful to the team.
3.) he did, but he didn't start.

I've said I love Max, but this constant obsession with cuadrado is nonsense now.

But kudos giving Bencantur a shot. Must mean the kid has convinced him.

The team has to learn to be ruthless and go for the kill.

Too many times we stand off and give the opposition easy possession

I think he can definitely get the balance better and play a more attacking game while not giving up too much defensively

I feel like what we did at Genoa was a step up not a step down. To score 4 straight goals away to Genoa when they have the comfort of defending is not the norm for us.

We looked like Madrid, Barca, Bayern coming back to stomp those lol worthy minnows in those leagues. Which we know is not the norm in Italy.

Yes, it was impressive. Surprisingly, I was pretty calm even after we lost the second goal since I somehow knew we can turn it around.

Yeah we did. I wouldn't have been surprised before to see some toothless attack get countered and then end up more goals down. It's not easy to play from 2-0 down so early, but it's better that then at 60+ mins. Also it's not easy for Genoa because they know an onslaught is coming. We got back into the game with quality and from then on Genoa were fearful. 7 goals in two games sends out a message, and we haven't even touched on using Douglas Costa or Bernardeschi yet.

Don't forget Pjaca Bro. Hopefully, with Keita coming in as well, teams will shit their shorts before they even play us. Too bad our defense is still suspect, and Khedira and Sturaro are still here. You can't have it all I guess.
