losing 4-1 in the final and major $#@! up in the second half, the late changes... all blamed on players?

playing 3 man defense and one player on each flank is suicidal against real madrid, they rely on spaces and when their midfielders are not under pressure they can win games easily against any opponent... it was all on Allegri.

Tactics have to change. Can't keep playing these defensive games all the time.

We just allowed Real Madrid to steamroll us in the second half without any fight.

We still do not have an attacking midfielder in this team that can run by players and open gaps since Agnelli and Marotta got involved in the club.

Monaco and Barcelona could have easily put more goals passed us and we were a bit fortunate not to concede more against both teams

Allegri: 'Juve let go psychologically'
By Football Italia staff

Massimiliano Allegri admits Juventus “let go psychologically” after the second goal in their 4-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, but will try again next year.

“I am very proud of what the lads achieved this season. We came here to win the trophy and didn’t manage it,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We played a really good first half and didn’t make the most of our chances. Pjanic had a knee problem, Real Madrid raised the tempo and we had a tough 15 minutes.

“We conceded that goal with a deflection and then let go psychologically. We should’ve reacted and defended with nails and teeth, but this is another step we have to take in future to learn from this and mature.”

It was 1-1 at the end of the first half, but Juventus seemed to disappear after the break and looked a completely different team.

“Even if Real Madrid had a very good second half and have excellent players who can change the game at any moment, that second goal knocked the wind out of our sails.

“We should’ve reacted, but you can’t do anything with ifs, buts and shoulds. Life gives us the opportunity to try again next year, so we must calmly analyse where we can improve as a team, in our football and in our mentality.

We used up a lot more energy in the first half than we should’ve done, because we were too rushed in possession and should’ve shown greater calm. That again is something we need to learn from and improve in future.

“We had the chances to end the first half in the lead, but for the second we cannot complain, as Real Madrid had an excellent performance.

They raised the tempo, as we were the ones pushing Real Madrid back in the first half, but in the second we couldn’t play our way out of defence and they kept pushing us back.

At that moment, we should’ve taken out the extra energy to push hard and keep the game open, as we know Real Madrid leave you the chances to score at all times, but we conceded the third goal and that was really damaging.

“We begin next season determined to have another great Champions League campaign, win the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia. We need to gather our thoughts, fire up our energy and fight back, because we can learn from this and improve.”

Allegri had been linked with a move to Arsenal, but will he be on the Juventus bench next season?

“This acts as further motivation to reach the Final again and hopefully win. The squad has everything it takes to do that, the club knows where we need to improve and adjust.

“It’s natural that we started the season with one system and changed midway through, so we rarely had the chance to rest certain players and they had to keep us going for a long time

So we played the opposite of what we normally do. Sounds like a tactical move.

Seems to be staying by his words so that is great.

We were too charged up for this game it seems, should have taken the conservative approach probably but I do understand that sometimes it's just hard to take a breather when you want something so bad.

I think allegri ked this up in part.

Tactically something was off... we should have gone with our 4231. 3 man defense is our doom it seems, and its understandable when you have a defender as old as barzagli, facing terrors like cristiano and mbappe on 1v1.

Also, whatever he said to the players at halftime fuked us up.

I dont know if he will get over this. It seems we need a change in menality, like some said, we need a more organized offensive approach with sutpidly good attacking technical players to win this, and im worried allegri is too italian for such an style of game.

I would like him here next season, but only if he completes his transition and embraces a new attacking juventus team.

This was the end of our bbc focused system IMO

Without thinking about lost finals in history do you think with players we have right now is success as a coach to win national trophies and play champions league final?

Definitely. Is a great success. But we are discussing a way to win the CL final right now.

Juve is strong enough for italy, but we need a final step for the cl. We are almost there

He needs to put an end to playing this midfield light set up that we're currently using. When Madrid stopped showing us any sense of respect we did a terrible job of building the play. Seriously, we need to get to a point where we can match Madrid and Bayern on the ball. Fact is, our squad in terms of individuals are nowhere near the teams we're trying to beat.

Even before their 2nd goal, we look fearful to make a mistake. We lost psychologically.
On 2nd Goal we look disorganized, Almost all players following the ball, and when the ball fall to Casemiro, we don't have enough time to block his shot

We are Juventus anyway and will always bounce back next year

I disagree also with that "too much Italian" things. This is Italian team and some players are together also in national team play that football. You must respect team mentality. For example Guardiola is great coach but when he come to Bayern he didnt respect german football they used to play and force players with spanish things they hated. I think same thing will happen to us. He is modernized italian coach. I like him exactly as a person and coach the way he is.

Allegri is showing good faith of respecting our mentality with two lost finals under his belt.
