Higuain makes Juventus history
By Football Italia staff

Gonzalo Higuain’s brace and a Paulo Dybala penalty saw Juventus sweep Bologna aside 3-0 and set a new all-time record of 26 consecutive Serie A home wins.

This result allows them to beat their own record of 25, set during Antonio Conte’s tenure from August 2013 to November 2014.

They also begin 2017 on a high, putting the disappointment of the Supercoppa Italiana defeat to Milan behind them.

Allegri > Conte ?
:agree:

Once he wins his third consecutive Scudetto, there will be not a single doubt left.

Right now:

Conte ---- Allegri
3 Scudetti > 2 scudetti
CL QF + GS exit < CL Final + Rof16
0 Coppa Italia < 2 Coppa Italia

Allegri could utterly smash Conte's record of success here with a 3rd straight domestic double, and a QF or better in the CL. And all of that with the great one-eyed God selling or giving away all his best players.

Allegri has had to deal with losing Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez, Pogba, Morata in his time here... Conte never had a single starter sold from under his feet.

Honestly, the only player we truly missed from that list of players is Vidal. Still haven't properly replaced him, as much as I hate to admit it.

Are you ranking them based on their time at Juve or as overall coaches ?
I'm just talking about their Juventus results... Mostly just fishing for a certain Conte-Salah-Barca aficionado. :p

If I'm being honest, I see no point at all in comparing the two. I'm immensely grateful for the success both coaches have led us to.

The problem for us is that there isn't really a player like Vidal in football right now. He was and is one of a kind as far as what he offers.

Gollum is the closest thing, even if he's half the player Vidal is now, and 1/4 of prime Vidal. But the dude hates us, so pointless to think about him.

We're basically stuck searching for a young player and hoping he develops into a Vidal. But how many B2B midfielders have combined that sort of insane workrate and grinta with the technical skill and offensive prowess and final ball that Vidal had? In the last 20 years? The guy was really damn unique.

then again, you have to consider the team Conte inherited from Del Neri and the one Allegri got from Conte. besides Conte had to deal with Pepe being injured, it was impossible to play 433 without him!

Also, let's not forget Conte had the terrible misfortune of losing Giaccherini after 1 season which could have easily made 11/12 look like a fluke since it almost destabilized the squad.

if only he had gotten Cuadrado or Iturbe

Giaccherini would get benched by all our current midfielders had he stayed...
fixed that for you
