Napoli had 82 points last season, more than the english champions and 9 less than the spanish champions. we are just too good
We are too good for Serie A I agree. But if we had an actual top team competing with us like Bayern, Barca, or Madrid we would not be able to afford such bad starts. Just imagine Barca dropping so many points at the start like we did last season. Benitez was sacked for much less. The quality of our competitors is so poor that we can afford throwing away games at the start of every season and still comfortably win again. I dont see that as a reflection of our quality but rather of the clubs we compete with.

It tells us Allegri is a hypocrite or has dementia.
Allegri is experimenting with his rotation, finding the depths of his current group of players.

He said it himself before the game that rotation is key and players need to remain fit for march when the season is decided.

So he rotates, and not just that but tries a bunch of stuff, we are still doing excellent in serie a and europe.

he is clueless and incompetent. in his third year, still too scared to make his own mark but instead playing it safe, preserving the status quo.

fuck 3-5-2 really. no top club touching that shit should tell you something even if you are not that bright.

Agreed, we're not dead we'll surely win Serie A, but I doubt we'll win the CL. Hope I'm wrong and Marchisio helps us out.
I doubt we'll win CL every single year. The odds are always slim. This year I'd give it the same chance as last year coming out of the summer. And we shall see if this team can improve like last season's team did by the CL knockout stage (assuming we get there).

As I've said many times, Marotta's real mistake was selling Vidal. He would have crushed this game in place of Asamoah. And I have no doubt in my mind we'd have won all 5 matches with him thus far.

Allegri still hasn't figured out how to use the pieces he has here. I don't get why he didn't go back to the selections used against Sassuolo. Incredibly poor choices from him.

I think he's fully aware that it's not his best position, but in his mind Pjanic is the best Marchisio replacement for now.

Like I said in the game thread, I understand this way of thinking, but so far it isn't working and it needs to stop.
also this. Pjanic has a similar role to Marchisio in 2015 in this team. starter mezzala and backup regista when Pirlo (now Marchisio) is unavailable. too bad we dont have a 4th top CM so have to play a finished Asa
Not so sure about that

He used Lemina as the deeper cm and pjanic as a cm and it worked pretty good. Hence Lemina played there most of the time.

Today we played Pjanic as regista and it clearly wasent working well.

This. It's like he intentionally wants to choose the inferior approach

We've dropped 3 points in 4 matches. While playing Inter, Lazio, Fiorentina, Sassuolo. I'd say 9 points is just fine from those 4 matches.

Our results aren't worrying in the slightest yet. It's Allegri's tactical choices, player selections, and the form we are showing that is worrisome thus far. For how poor we've looked, we've done surprisingly well so far.

we still finished with 91, which is as much as Barca had. we were dropping points at the start, Barca was dropping points through out the season

Pogba in a struggeling midfield ?
Pjanic-Khedira a struggling midfield?

You sure? I could see him trying to dribble past the entire Inter team and get pissed every time he loses the ball.
you know thats not true

Yeah. They were struggeling today because there was no holding midfielder.

You know, exactly like last season. When did it change ?

.....When Marchisio returned. And thats what would have made the difference today. Marchisio.

Him holding the midfield and Pjanic beeing LCM

Well, didn't you just post that Allegri in an interview said that Pjanic is better as a mezzala and not a regista?

There it is, then. He knows.

He's just using him as a regista now in Marchisio's absence.

I can't say I like it. Hope he goes for Lemina as a regista next time.

Take the Pogba BS elsewhere please or go find a place in the Ratcafe forum. This is an Allegri thread and please don't pollute it with Pogba mentions.

Higuaín should've really started today and that is what bugged me.

There's truth in there, I just wish he would gamble. Gambles FFS we can afford especially in serie A... right?

He has used Lemina as regista in each game the guy started. Hence this was the first game where Pjanic started as the regista

Why ? Cause he's rotating and checking out how his players do in sup-optimal roles.
