Interesting.

Allegri said a few times prior to this game how the press should stop labeling us huge favorites and how it is affecting players badly.
Well, how to get players feet back onto the ground better then drawing the first home game ?

Press does need to $#@! off about favorites and stuff. But they can completely trash Allegri when he makes a bad gamble imo.

I can understand Allegri picking the midfield he did today. Sevilla were always going to A) press very hard and B) take it down to the trenches, so it makes sense to opt for a more physical midfield, rather than someone like Hernanes or Pjanic who are more likely to be caught out by the press.

Unfortunately it didn't work, but let's have some perspective. Sevilla will be our toughest games, and we restricted them to no chances and really could have scored a couple ourselves (Alex Sandro, Higuain, Khedira x2).

Sevilla came to disrupt our game and take a point. They did it very well, fair play to them. I'd have introduced Pjanic earlier, and started with Alex Sandro, but it's not the end of the world.

I thought it was OK to field asamoah and evra, but the approach was so defensive so much that both wings were dysfunctional. this changed at the start of second half where asamoah was supporting evra at the flank as well and the wingbacks went up - dont understand why this could not be done in the first half too.

That's the thing though, you don't see fucking Madrid, Bayern, Barca or even the likes of PSG, City and Dortmund come up against physical sides and shit their pants and look to their physical, average players to save them. They play their own game. With this squad, we should play our own fucking game not shit ourselves because a half decent team wants to muscle us.

Sorry Messi, Iniesta you lads are hitting the bench. We need Turan and Aleix Vidal for this one.

Look, we all know how Allegri is. He gets new players and he eases them in. Then we manage to scrape through. Hopefully he changes this sooner than later.

I don't know why he didn't play Alex Sandro, though.

If we cant handle high expectations then we are not a top team. Thats such a weak thing to say by Allegri. Imagine Barca, Bayern or Madrid complained about the press raising expectations of the team.

Plus, press didnt invent anything. Marotta said we are aiming for the CL already more than once.

I truly wonder what Maxx was thinking. Anyway, I'm not worried. He's not a stubborn guy. He likes to experiment but if it fails, he won't stick with it.

Hopefully he finds his perfect formula soon.

The justification people made here are insane and zach said allegri deliberately self sabotaged the team the delusion is more grandeur than when marotta apologists defended him several years ago when we were signing shit players right and left.

Damn Max, I'm really disappointed in you. You could have done a much better player selection and substitutions but you failed both tasks then you answer like an idiot on the press conference.

You will get better tho, you always do. Just drop the pussy tactics please.

Pussy tactics once again.

I don't get it. Sevilla is a team significantly weaker than us but yet we field more defensive players. We have world class CBs and an LB in Alex Sandro who's absolutely better than Evra in every aspect of the game.

Then we also play Asamoah instead of Pjanic. Seriously, it's not like we have shit defenders who need Asamoah's cover.

Disgraceful really, Max deserves all of the blame. Can only hope he won't repeat the same mistake again. I was ok with starting Evra over AS but dropping Pjanic too for Asamoah? Insane, almost embarrassing. Could you imagine Barca dropping Iniesta to start Mascherano instead......

:agree: and for his post match comments obviously he's going to defend the players he put out there and not shit on asamoah or Evra just hopefully he realizes changes need to be made

Everyone should stop expecting us to roflstomp our CL group just because "player vs player our team is miles better". Until we prove it on the field paper victories mean shit and you just sound like a Real Madrid fan. We should get our humility back and accept that we are not that superior to Sevilla at the moment and won't win 10 games out of 10 against such teams.

So he actually said

"I expected to win, the players expected to win. Juventus must play to win every competition. "

" To say Juventus is the favourite to win the competition is fantasy. We haven't won for 20 years. We have the potential to be on the same level as the favourites however. We have to face every game with humility."

"this is the first time I haven't won the first group game, hopefully it's a good sign."
