It's all pretty much the same thing, Dybala drops really deep and plays very wide. But he is a goalscorer, so no point to play him really deep.
That's right. If you watch closely, that is where Dybala plays. He plays inside right support striker if you will. You will also notice from last season, Pogba often played on the left in advanced positions. If Pjaca is in the team, that is where he would be. Something like this.....
--------------------Buffon----------------
------------Bonucci----Chiellini-----Evra
Alves---------------Pjanic----------------
-------Khedira---------------Asamoah---
-----------------------------Pjaca---------
---------Dybala---------------------------
--------------------Higuain---------------
Firstly, in a back 4, I highly doubt Allegri would have Alves AND Sandro as the full backs. He was reluctant to have 2 attacking wingbacks last season let alone 2 attacking full backs this season. So if Sandro starts on the left, Lich starts on the right.
Secondly, Alves is weaker compared to Lich defensively but offers a lot more offensively. Therefore in a back 4, he would be given more licence to push forward which means Khedira or whoever player RCM has to do a lot more covering. Alves and Dybala will be a threat as Alves provides right footed crosses while Dybala cuts inside for shots.
On the left side, in the above case it would be Evra and Asa sharing responsibility for left footed crosses with Pjaca cutting inside for the right footed shots.
The balance is all there.
