I think you are confusing wingers and wingbacks. Wingbacks are like full backs, only with less defensive duties and more attacking ones. Compared to wingers they are really defensive. Bale, Ronaldo, Robben of whoever else you have in mind would be terrible wing backs but are world class wingers. Sandro, Marcelo and Alves are full backs that can play wingbacks because they are very good going forward( by fullbacks' standards not by Wingers').

What world class wingbacks to you have in mind?
Thanks for clearing that up cuz I thought bale robben are in same category as the others u mentioned :) No actually they wouldn't fit at all, Sandro has got what it takes that's why I mentioned it already he is good enough, but not for now and not against Bayern..he gets caught out one time it's over.

So who is a world class wing back then?

He doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. That should be clear to everyone by now.
Yeah, cuz I said he isn't ready against Bayern cuz be doesn't know 352 system yet rite? Are u one of those idiots who thinks just because Sandro is effective in the league he can handle robben and Costa? keep playing 3-5-2 use pogba to double team wingers, waste him at the midfield cleaning up..a 100m custodian... Lol

there are to problems with Robben and Costa
1. You have to be able to physically hang with them because they run with speed and can turn you inside out easily if they get you on your heels
2. Be tactically sound in every minute because they will run you to death then do some cut only to have 3-4 men running through.
Evra is more experienced and can definately play the 2 better but physically he doesnt quite have it.
Sandro might be out of position a few times but has the athletic ability to stay with them and put pressure on them
There isnt one clear defined answer but thats what you have to choose between. Also factor in how much offensive output they will give out. Sandro is much better there

But our 3-5-2 is much better with him in the lineup, he's been a huge boost there, and actually enhances Pogba's offensive contributions compared to Evra in that setup because Paul has somebody consistently barreling down that flank to actively combine with in the final 3rd.

It's also worth noting that Alex Sandro put in a pretty impressive performance against Bayern in last year's CL (I didn't see the match, but some were raving about Porto's FBs from that matchup). Bayern were short their big wingers iirc, but he still helped put them on lock down, and added an assist. Different setup, but point being it's not like the matchup is too big for him.

We need that freight train physicality and excellent service in our lineup, regardless of the formation Max chooses. We have to score, and need that boost for the counter attack. AS is without doubt a better player than Evra at this point, both offensively and defensively. Offensively it's obvious, but more generally, his physicality, and pace are just huge advantages over Evra at this point. He's going to be better suited to handle Robben's pace, to body him a little, and if AS does get a little out of position, he can recover it much better than Uncle Pat can (all do respect to Evra, who is still a solid player).

Come on man, why so angry? Saying Alex Sandro isn't good enough wingback to play in the Champions League is clueless no two ways about it. He did well enough against Bayern last season so maybe you're the one who should really think about what you're saying before calling people idiots.

With Cuad tonight we'd terrorise Inter's left side of defense and there would be more cards on their side. I understand his reasoning, fielding one defensive and offensive WB at a time, but don't agree with it. We could do better than grind the results, especially against this Inter. But kudos for the derby win in any case. Perfect subs as usual.
