Haha. Great comeback from the boys. I honestly believe though we could've had more from this game if we'd played our game a bit more. That first half was the worst ever in our history IMO.

No.

Because he is the reason we were $#@! in the first place.
Allegri isn't the reason why our players couldn't string two passes together lol

Yea his tactics at the first half weren't brilliant, but he managed to change them around at half time. Something that Conte was incapable of doing...

Really dont think so. It was all in players heads. The last 3 times against them we were humiliated so it took a while for us to get a grip.

His subs were spot on. You cant do better than that, had brought in 2 players who scored both goals.

3-5-2 would have suited his tactic better. He tried Simeone style 4-4-2 but we sat too deep. Our mids don't have Atletico's work rate.

It's obvious the right tactic against Pep is to counter but I think the 4-4-2 was the reason we were so deep. To cover the CBs, you need the CM to sit on top of them, it drops the whole team back.

We didn't even try to go forward.

Maybe he tried to play counter attack, but we failed miserably at that too.

Like I said after Conte doing similar $#@!, if we want to build a $#@!ing team and play good old fashioned counter attacking football then I can accept that. But we just approach games like this with the intention of defending for 90 $#@!ing minutes and hoofing it up the pitch to nobody or my personal favourite, lob it around 2-3 times then concede a throw in.
I don't recall Conte parking the bus against Bayern at all. If anything he tried to impose our 3-5-2 and failed at doing so because they had better players. The criticism people launch against him is that we should have defended with 2 wide players on each side and played on the counter.

Allegri is not at fault for trying to play park the bus and counter. Most coaches take it as a given that Pep teams take possession and you try to counter them. It failed miserably as we choked for the first 45 min and then his hand was forced to play our normal game and as it turns out, Bayern's midfield and defense was very vulnerable. Could he have foresaw that? maybe but its not surprising that the guy tried countering first.

Yes, a second half in their home ground and with Martinez, Benatia coming back. No more Kimmich to gift us goals.
Still, their midfield is vulnerable and Pep isnt known for organizing defenses. It will be tough and we are unlikely to go through but they are not Pep's barca. We can really trouble a midfield of vidal, thiago and whoever else. They are no iniesta and Xavi and besquets
