We definitely create less now, probably way less. But we're more efficient with finishing. Conte's Juve created the most chances in the league by far and was poor at finishing - kind of like us at the start of this season.

Under Conte, we'd create like 25 chances and score a goal. Often GKs seemed to turn into an unbeatable wall. The reasons why finishing was poor under Conte are: 1) our strikers weren't as good, 2) rigidity led to predictability.

Conte was our coach not too long ago. A lot of people seem to be suffering from short-term memory loss when it comes to Conte. :p It's like they blocked everything out out of frustration the moment Conte decided to quit. :D
If anything we've been more wasteful this year.

2015/16 - 6 shots on goal per game, 12% realization (goals/total shots)
2013/14 - 6 shots on goal per game, 18% realization
2012/13 - 7 shots on goal per game, 13% realization

You forgot the end of the line:

Calculate this season's conversion rate from start of November and then compare. Earlier this season, we were very much like Conte's Juve in terms of conversion rate or even worse because absolutely nothing was going in.

And you left out last season for some reason.

It'll be interesting to see the conversion rate in Conte's first season too.

My point was that we don't create way less chances than in Conte's arguably the best two seasons here, despite the initial difficulties. Probably around the same, but the style of football we play atm seems to be more pleasing to watch. The last part is just my impression.

2012/2013 total chances created (in Serie A): 525 (71 Goals)
2013/14: 465 (80 Goals)
2014/2015: 456 (72 Goals)

So in terms of full serie A season, Conte's second season was most creative while the difference between his last season and Allegri's first is very small. You could also see the permanent increase in efficiency with the introduction of Tevez and Llorente. From 7.4 chances needed per goal without them to 5.8 chances per goal (both under Conte) to 6.3 chances per goal under Allegri last season.

In terms of first 23 games of the season (to include the current season), the comparison is as follows:
12/13: 337 (Goals:48) 7 chances per goal
13/14: 316 (Goals: 56) 5.64 chances per goal
14/15: 298 (Goals: 49) 6.1 chances per goal
Current 15/16: 296 (Goals: 43) 6.88 chances per goal. So despite how poorly we started, this squad is still more efficient than Vucinic and Matri leading the line.
However it is clear that Conte's teams (especially the 2012/13 one) were more creative.

72.8 win % and 2.40 points/game (Conte) vs. 68.9 win % and 2.26 points/game (Allegri)

1.92 goals/game scored (Conte) vs. 1.89 goals/game scored (Allegri)
0.59 goal/game conceded (Conte) vs. 0.64 goal/game conceded (Allegri)

So yeah, it's clear who has been the superior coach for us in Serie A (if it wasn't already before).

Likewise, it's also apparent that Allegri has been better for the CL.

We've been very lucky to be coached by two top coaches one after the other. And they both were appointed exactly when we needed them, exactly when we could use their particular strengths in coaching.

My point was that we don't create way less chances than in Conte's arguably the best two seasons here, despite the initial difficulties. Probably around the same, but the style of football we play atm seems to be more pleasing to watch. The last part is just my impression.
I know where you stand (slight change now from we create more chances under Allegri to same :p), but your hypothesis can't be supported by the incomplete set of stats you provided. You're purposefully ignoring stats from last season, a full season under Allegri, for some reason. :D And also ignored the part where I pointed out that we were very inefficient at finishing earlier this season. When I have more time, I'll look up the stats and post.

While it's great that Max has done better in the CL compared to Conte and other Juve coaches in the past 20 years it's really a contest of who is the tallest midget at this point. With Lippi being the only coach accomplishing the ultimate goal.

Oh I forgot to point out that on top of ^that, Allegri has had the better teams.

Mate, I can't be arsed to browse the net to find more stats. I'll leave that to stat geeks like you, but we don't seem to create way less (see @Hist's post) and bear in mind that Allegri was given 10 new players this term :p

And we can't cherry-pick certain periods of the season to make a point. Overall it's around the same.

Btw I don't mind obtaining less points in Serie A if we win the title in the end and if we have better European season. Allegri seems to know how to find better balance between competitions and the brand of football we have been playing under him has brought great European results so far. Comfortably qualifying from the groups is a standard now, previously it was as struggle.

Conte's stats are inflated by that insane 2013-14 Serie A season.
We should compare the CL stats, that's where the real difference between the two lies.
On a season by season basis, Conte's teams always created more chances than Allegri's teams. Tevez and Llorente seemed to add a lot of efficiency to the team though.

In terms of creativity during the group stage, I cant find stats for Conte's first CL run (the good one) but I found the stats for the bad one 2013/14 and we still created more than we did during the group stages last season and the current.
UCL Chances created in group stage
2013/14 88 Chances
2014/15 68 Chances
2015/16 78 Chances

So it seems we really did choke badly that season especially the attack that wasted so much.

Let's do that:

Conte - 16 games, 24 points, 1.5 per game (6 wins, 4 losses, 6 draws)

Euromaxx - 19 games, 35 points, 1.84 per game (10 wins, 4 losses, 5 draws)

I find the chances created stat particularly dodgy.
I mean it's not something you quantify based on stats. You just need to watch the games to see how easy those chances were to score or how many clear cut chances we created.
13-14 team definitely produced the most boring brand of football in the past 5 yrs. There was this huge gap between the strikers and midfielders with goals often coming from Tevez' individual brilliance or Llorente headers.I think this was particularly the reason why 3-5-2 became an extremely dire formation.
