Zaza, Rugani, Cuadrado? I'd have been happy for them to start and rest Dybala, Barzagli and Lichsteiner. We don't need to start the entire bench.
Fuck that, this game needed strongest possible team, was important to get result here, we failed. Wouldn't been better to weaken the team.

This was a key game. So you field your strongest team. Its that simple. You dont just put some kid who has 4 minutes and cuadrado who's defensively much inferior to licht on the field cause it looks pretty.
Honestly, I think Fiorentina is a bigger game for our season. I would rather have rested players, not just picked a team "to look pretty".

But we decided that this was a huge game and went for the starters.

As long as we win on Sunday is what matters.

@Klin - I really don't know why you're defending this. When we're out, after next round, you'll go full retard attacking the usual people making up excuses about missed chances. It really looks like the "snow on the field" season right now.
Because you're not making any sense. If you want to blame Allegri or our mentality or any other reason, blame the result against Borussia on both legs. Or against Seville in the first leg.

I didn't see anything wrong with our mentality today. This was nothing like against the Turks for example. That was us, the classic chokers. Tonight only one player choked and it caused us big time, especially if we'll drew Barca who would humiliate us and possibly cause our season to crash even more.

His team provided, cause we let them. I thought you knew what we were discussing.
They actually scored from a corner. Let's blame the player who gave them a corner.

We have 23 games left in serie a.

We had 1 game that decided wether we face the group leaders or second placed

How exactly is fiorentina a bigger game.

Fiorentina is technically a bigger game, but there was nothing wrong with our line up tonight. I hope this is not because he didn't play Rugani.

Let's on agree on that you don't comment on any of my posts, when it's obvious you haven't read anything I wrote tonight.
Oh, (for the second time) our defense has been our strong-hold this season. We created a lot and gave away a lot. Stupid gameplan, when our attack has been horrible all season long.

Bayern, Barça, Madrid.

Don't see us beating any of these.

Atlético-50/50

Wolfsburg, Zenit, Winner of Chelsea's group.Only 3 draws where we would be favoured.

We gave away a lot, mostly individual errors, yes. How is that stupid gameplan from the coach?

I don't buy it. We gave away too many opportunities (cornes, spot kicks, crosses) in the first half. Buffon saved us a couple of times. This is on Allegri and Morata. Allegri for blowing up three match balls.
We were cutting trough them left and right in the first half, but we didnt score, that is on morata.

When the central midfield collapsed, they started to intercept horrible passes and controlls, wich led to shots, crosses and headers, or forced defenders into fauls and corners.

We had 0 central midfielders on the bench.

It's not like Sevilla had 3-4 great chances too.
If people expected Sevilla, playing in front of their own crowd, fighting for EL place to not pose any threat for our goal, well it's not very realistic. We didn't finish off our chances and some were really harder to miss, while Llorente scored an amazing header. The tactics, the approach to the game was good, even when chasing the result in the end, the team didn't rush it and managed to create several good openings (Moratta again, Pogba, Dybala), but the game really should have been put to bed in the 1st half.

We are on a run in Serie A, we need to keep it going, psychologically a win against a team second in the league and close in on the leaders before the winter break (especially with Roma v Napoli) could be huge. Conversely dropped points could have the opposite effect.

We only needed a draw tonight, I would have been almost just as confident enough of getting that result resting Licht and a defender. Lets be honest winning the Champions League this season is not going to happen. Serie A is the priority in my eyes, especially as we have far more competition to get in the top 3. It's not like we were battling Sevilla to qualify, we are already through and top spot is a bonus. We made it to the final last year qualifying in second, it is not the most important thing but is obviously an advantage.

Its not as though I'm saying to start Vitale instead, these guys are still decent players.

You have commented in other threads that certain players look tired, given the run of games I would rather have tried to keep the team as fresh as possible for Fiorentina.

But I understand that for some the Champions League is everything.

And Sturaro is shit.
He's fine when Marchisio is good. But he cant compensate at all when Marchisio goes under. And Pogba needs the cm's to play properly to function well.

i'm not worrying about fiorentina. Asamoah for Sturaro. Pogba a more attacking minded position

Btw @Klin , Sturaro also had a huge miss on that Sandro cross in the first half.
