more mascherano rumors...

Mascherano linked to Juve

Transfer gossipJavier Mascherano's nightmare spell at West Ham United could be about to end, with Juventus apparently poised to make a move for the midfielder.

The Argentina international arrived at Upton Park with countryman Carlos Tevez in August amid a blaze of publicity, but the former Corinthians man has failed to make any sort of an impact with the Hammers, making just three starts in total.

However, Italian paper Gazzetta Dello Sport are reporting that Juventus are set to meet with Media Sports Investment, who own Mascherano's registration, about a deal worth around £5 million.

Juve are currently pushing for promotion back into Serie A, they are unbeaten so far this season, but still only lie in third place after having started the season on minus nine points after they were relegated for their part in the now infamous match fixing scandal.

One stumbling block to the move could be the FIFA rule that states that no player can appear for more than two clubs in any one season.

Mascherano has lined out for both Corinthians and West Ham this campaign, but he can still be granted a move if FIFA deem it a "special case."

Reports in Italy suggest Juventus are close to signing West Ham midfielder Javier Mascherano in the next few weeks.

The Argentine signed a four-year deal with the London club during the summer, but has struggled to adapt to his new life and has been frequently linked with the demoted giants in the past few months, after allegedly asking the Hammers to let him leave.

Bianconeri officials are expected in London in the next 48 hours to finalise the details with the company who owns the player and Mascherano could arrive in Italy shortly on a £5.7m deal.

'The Little General’, who had been urged to join the Juve in the January transfer window by Argentina boss Alfio Basile, is liked by Coach Didier Deschamps, who had already eyed him during the summer.

The 22-year-old Argentine, who impressed for his national side during the 2006 World Cup, would arrive with the added bonus of an Italian passport and is considered by the Bianconeri a key player as the Old Lady plans to strengthen the side ahead of their potential return to Serie A at the end of the season.

The former Corinthians man started his career in his homeland with River Plate, before moving to the Brazilian side in 2005, where he won the League title along with his Argentine teammate Carlos Tevez.

Mascherano is also a reported target for Inter and Fiorentina, who are both willing to offer up to £2m to convince the player to leave Upton Park.

Oh yeah, everyone pretty much knew Milan was paying crazy sum for Oliveira.:D I wouldnt even touch him if he was offered for 4m. But then again I think Silvio isnt really concerned about Oliveira. After all his slagging off on Real for tapping up Kaka, I feel he just couldnt do the same with Dinho. So he decided to pay a bit extra to speak to Ronaldinho's brother. Usually when Silvio wants things, he gets his wishes. I have a feeling Milan is going to buy Dinho next summer - I am not sure Kaka will be there though.

Nedved is not young anymore you know... Dont expect him to be a first team player next year.. Atleast not if we want to run for the scudetto..!!
nothing's wrong with u'r opinion mate , but i'm pointed that sjneider isn't fit in our left flanks , of course we need more fresh players to strenghten our team for next year , but why we keep dreaming on sjneider while we can get a better one like mascherano :D at least i still hope nedved will remain in juve until retire :)

Juve continue Javier chase

Reports in Italy claim Juventus are to make a renewed bid for West Ham United midfielder Javier Mascherano.

The Argentine has struggled to adjust to the demands of English football and has made just seven appearances since his August move from Corinthians.

He has yet to feature under new Hammers boss Alan Curbishley and reports persist he will be allowed to leave Upton Park.

Curbishley is still assessing his squad, while Mascherano insists quitting West Ham has not crossed his mind.

But Juventus have been long-term suitors of the stylish midfielder and coach Didier Deschamps is a fan of the South American.

The latest reports in Italy suggest Juve are dispatching two officials to London in the coming days to meet with Mascherano's management company MSI.

The club hope to persuade MSI to move Mascherano out of West Ham and are willing to pay up to €8 million (£5.4 million) to arrange a deal.

Speculation has also claimed that the player has recently shunned interest from Liverpool in order to remain available for a switch to Italy.

According to the latest transfer rumours, the Argentinean midfielder is set to join the Bianconeri in January.

Javier Mascherano to Juventus is a matter of days if the speculations surrounding the West Ham player are to be believed. What seemed like a deal which would go through in summer could actually become reality in the upcoming weeks as the transfer market re-opens in January.

The 22-year-old has found it difficult to acclimate himself to the fast-paced English football, like many other Argentinean players before him, therefore Mascherano could fit in perfectly into the more tactical Serie A football.

Didier Deschamps always held the young Argentinean midfielder in high esteem and has made it no secret that he wants to have him in Turin.

The Juventus directors are expected in London within the next 48 hours to seal the deal with an offer of 6 million Sterling.

If the deal does go through, then the Bianconeri will have to offload some youth players, including Marchionni who did not find too much space in the first eleven this season.
