Fritz is the name of the most popular and one of the most powerful chess programs aroound. It's multi-processor version drew a classically time controlled match 3-3 (or maybe 4-4) with Kasparov recently.

Ah I've probably heard of it then. Evidently it didn't stick in my memory but I remember surfing the site for it a couple of months ago.

It's in progress, but the match will take days to weeks to finish, because AFAIK the two players are in different time zones, and chess takes an age anyway :sleepy:

Yes, it's live! The thing is, as Graham said, it'll take a while to get anywhere. :)

Oh, and Gray, Martin's in Norway, I'm in Ireland - they might be different timezones, but it's not all that significant. Look at a map.

    That's right Basti.
    King Queen Rook Bishop kNight.
The N is used because the Konig already uses the K.

Hey, are we talking about a different game here Basti? I see 3D models representing the pieces

Graham, he's talking about the game score, to the right of the board. You're looking at the same window.

Wow, a chess game slowed down even more. I hope the forums won't crash due to amount of people from other boards who are gonna come to see this extravaganza...

:D I once played an email game that was abandoned after a bit over 8 months. The top postal players can take two or three years to get a game finished!
