How? The defender who's in front is at least two feet ahead of the line and he's also behind the ball. He was ball watching and failed to track Shreks run.

First it was Godin who missed the ball with his tackle, then Gonzalez who missed the ball too and Johnson gave a pass on Rooney through Gonzalez's legs, but no, let's blame Caceres  football pro analytics
Nah, Caceres went into sleep mode, he does ball watch, but it's not the worst I've seen.

He's been consistently making blunders in the last few years, struggling to cope with most average of forwards. When it comes to defending, Chiellini along with Barzagli, has been our most reliable defender. It's travesty trying to put him on the equal footing to Chiello or even worse, making him to be a better performer.

 what a rubbish statement
Caceres was goal side of him and then got blindsided by him and fell asleep at the key moment. I like Caceres as a player but that was his man and he lost him. But apparently you disagree. (In a childish manner)

BS, Bonucci is that guy. Chiello has been very solid most of the time. Caceres as well is known to make blunders every now and then, not reliable defender at all.
I'd say Bonucci has made more costly errors (those leading to goal) than Chiellini. But Chiellini has been more error prone and is much less of a defender than he was a couple of seasons ago. Our only saving grace individually has been Barzagli and the fact that our defensive output has been much more than the sum of it's individual parts (having some really solid midfielders help).

You all clearly never played football in your life :sergio: as a defender you should control the line, obviously attacking players have advantage In the situation like this cause they are making runs in the empty zones while defenders are forced to stay in line because otherwise you can create onside situation for your opponents if you will stay too deeply in your box, oh and of course Martin should have known that his 2 teammates will miss the ball with their tackles

You hold a line up to a point and then have to react to movement, Uruguay were very deep to be holding a line, especially from a ball coming in from a lateral area. Through ball is different.

To be fair to him Johnson got a very good ball in when he wasn't really expected to.

Uruguay wasn't too deep, re-watch full replay, it was sturridge who owned 3 Uruguay players with back heel move on the right wing
