How can Padoin play over Caceres? :(
It is indeed a bit weird, when you consider it. Perhaps the last straw for Caceres was this whole Peluso-thing.

But we'll see how much truth there is to this. It wouldn't be surprising, though. When Padoin, Peluso and The Ceglie are ahead of you in the pecking order, it's pretty likely that you'd wanna move on.

Caceres doesn't really fit in the 3-5-2.

Doesn't have the positional sense and awareness required to be a CB.

Doesn't have the quality going forward to really be a wingback.

Still, he should probably have played more this season given that some of his competition hasn't exactly been particularly impressive.

But he isn't better than Padoin?

He has scored more goals in one game than Peluso, De Ceglie and Padoin combined. :sergio:

At what?

He's a better all-round player, but that doesn't mean he's more useful for the specific task Conte is looking for the RWB to perform.
Crossing: better
Pace: better
Attacking: better
Marking: better

someone who is meant to lockdown the flank needs the pace, stamina, and ability to provide SOMETHING in both attack and defense.

Caceres...has pretty much all of it.

I'd give Padoin the edge on crossing and wouldn't say there is much between them in general attacking.

The defensive aspect of the role is only a factor in games where the wingback is going to have to defend - and that is probably why you are much more likely to Caceres feature in games against the better sides, while Padoin is more likely to feature against weaker sides when Juve are dominant.

If you ever have anyone that looks like an Apache Indian warrior, you must play him.

We all know this.

I'd have to challenge this post with "he gets into space better" for $500, Alex.
