I'm almost sure Conte will not change his defensive line. He thinks they're doing well and that's why he has sticked with Bonucci as a starter and Chiellini as a LB. Anyway, Caceres move is a good one, just that I don't think we'll see him play unless we have injuries in our back-line.
I pretty much was going to write exactly the same, azzurrri...Although I would add in the liklihood of suspensions very soon offering Caceres a chance. His versatility and grinta make him ideal for Conte. Whenever we can't play Chiellini at LB, we presently put de ceglie in there. Who is a constant liability against any decent right opposition attack, mainly because his tackling isn't good and his positioning is atrocious. At best, he should be used as a left midfielder/left winger. If Lich gets crunched then its Motta or our young viking Freddy (who is a natural CB, not RB). Anything other than our first XI options at fullback are woeful against solid opponents. Caceres is perfect to improve our options in those positions. I doubt he will get a sniff in the middle.

Any news? I want him to join Juve as soon as possible.
“Juve’s interest made me very happy, as it’s rare for the Juventus train to come along twice in under three years,” said agent and former Bianconeri striker Daniel Fonseca.

“I am not surprised, though. Martin has Juventus in his destiny. He is a warrior, the kind that the Bianconeri fans and Conte really appreciate. Even if he’s content in Sevilla, he’d be very happy to come back to Turin.”

“When Juve didn’t take up their option in 2010, there was certainly some bitterness, but we are not seeking revenge. Changing your valuation is a sign of intelligence.

“He can play in any of the defensive roles, whether central or full-back, on the right or left. In Uruguay and various clubs he was used in five different positions. He adapts to situations, but what remains intact is his inexorable hunger for success.”

All the sources that usually cover calcio are united in the claim that Juve are seriously interested in Caceres and we're working hard to get him. They too agree that Caceres is strongly demanded by Conte himself.
It makes sense though that Conte is asking for Caceres. It would make no sense the man who refused to use the option to buy Caceres last summer, or negotiate a better deal considering how Sevilla got him the same summer for only 3m euro, to now go after Caceres.
This guy is definitely Conte's choice and it makes me happy that the directors are trusting Conte and buy the players he's asking for. I wish though that he'll ask for star players :D

I guess it depends on how you look at it. One can say that the man who refused to use that option choose Krasic over him for the 1 non-EU spot that same summer when Sevilla got him for 3 mil euro...

It was a high buyout clause and Caceres had injuries as well.

Still, replacing him with Motta made no frickin sense. One of Marotta's biggest mistakes.

Caceres wasn't going to take the non-EU spot. He was registered for Juve in the 2009/2010 season as a non-EU player. He couldn't have taken a non-EU spot twice.
He was considered unneeded by Del Neri and we didn't even try to negotiate the 12m eur buy option. Considering how Barca let him leave for 4 times less, if we wanted him we could have bought him for some 6m eur, which is probably less than what we'll pay now.
