no i mean it would leave us with no option to buy him, so if he is good we basically just go back to square one.

Yeah, I'm sure that if we do sign him on loan then after there will be a certain fee which we'll be able to make the transfer permanent for.

loan without option to buy would be a bad move. i don't think there is any chance this happens...

let's wait and see what happens. i hope we have something official soon...

good piece of news. caceres would be a good signing. but i disagree about the selling of poulsen. i think he can do well and we need him as a backup...

Poulsen's marginal input to the team will be way lower than the marginal cost on our salary budget. It has been last year and with the arrival of Melo, it'll most likely stay like that next year.
IIRC, Poulsen earns quite a high wage (3 - 3,5 MEUR?).

Also, how many backups for the CM (or call it DM if you want) do you really need?
There are just too many right now, at least 2 (Almiron & ?) have to leave.

firstly almiron would definetely leave...

so we will have momo as dmc and poulsen as second choice.

marchisio / camo as mc and the other one as second choice.

melo as mc and tiago as second choice.

if poulsen leaves, then zanetti would be our second choice in case that momo is injured. i don't know if we can rely on him very much...

That is why he will be second choice. Playing less means less chance to get injured. I hope that Ciro can keep our boys fit this year and much less injury free.

Yes Geof, 3 mil (which goes up to 6 mil if you add the taxes)
Do you have a radar for unknown numerical values? :D

So this means we'll very roughly pay out 500.000 EUR for every match he'll play.

Assuming we play a 4_3_1_2:

1: Momo-Melo-Marchisio

2: Zanetti-Tiago-Camo

*** Almiron-Poulsen

Almiron must go whatever happens. One of Tiago and Poulsen should leave. Given that Tiago has more unique skills and he's earns less, Poulsen should go.

Not that I want to get rid of Poulsen at any cost, but he should realise he want see the field very often, and that there is a WC to be played in the summer.

I think you underestimate Zanetti. Anytime he's been fit, he was one of our most consistent midfielders.

Absolutely. We are covered for all 3 positions. We have Ekdal if we don't decide to loan him. Is Almiron at training with the team? Where is he even at?

Ekdal's already at Siena. The guy form the Primavera who can make the jump in case of emergency is Marrone.
So is that saying Marrone is better than Ekdal already? Yeah, I don't know why I forgot he went to Siena already. :)sergio: )

I wouldn't mind see Marrone getting some PT in Coppas.

zanetti is 32 years old and i don't think that he can be our main dmc if melo or momo get injured. i believe poulsen more. the guy is good if his only job is defending...

I agree that he's good for certain roles, but he's just too expensive for the little he'll play. we've got to watch our wage budget closely, especially since Diego and Melo joined.

In any case, all of Melo, Sissoko, Marchisio and Zanetti can do a good job as defensive midfielders, so Zanetti won't be alone defending.

no but I think he will. They just want to see what Ekdal is made of and he'll get more playing time over there. Marrone would just be in case we lose like 2-3 mids.

Well if the same thing happens next year we may need the backup for Marrone:snoop:
