And Poulsen played well last year? We bought him for almost 10 mil, now he's worth maybe 7-8 mil. Caceres was bought for 15 mil and he was the same "Flop" like Poulsen. So therefore Poulsen + 5 mil is a good deal for us imo.
So if we overpaid like Barca did with Caceres and if we bought Poulsen for 15m eur, a direct swap would have been fair now?
This doesn't make sense.
You go with their real value.
Poulsen was close to the end of his contract with Sevilla and we could buy out his contract. The law allowed us to do it. But since there's gentlemen agreement between clubs not to buy out the contracts of the players we instead made a deal with Sevilla and paid them the same money. We bought him for his real value, which was 9-10m eur.
Now, he didn't have a good season at all. An injury plagued season, mixed with some bad performances, but also some MOtM performances (Roma, Milan). He was a typical destroyer, even a CB at certain times, while in Juve he was forced to be a playmaker. I don't think that Poulsen's price should be lower than what we paid for him, but the market dictates the prices and it looks like 7-8m eur is his price now.
Caceres' price was inflated with the war between Real and Barca for his signature. I'd say Barca paid at least 100% more than his real value. Then in Barca he literally flopped.
His realistic price was actually some 7-8, i'd give you even 10m eur. Now his realistic price should be even lower than that, but his youth keeps the price at that same level.
Straight swap is more than fair in this case.
