There is a reason why he was bought by Barca for 15 mil, he has potential. I dont know why people are complaining, we are getting rid of a player and buying a player who we need. Someone young and a player who can play at many positions in the defence. Maybe next year Caceres will "replace" Canna in the starting eleven and we dont have to search for another CB next season. But he can also play at the LB this year instead of Molinaro and De Ceglie going to Napoli.

Agree.
The thing is that Pique was able to establish him self as a CB and Puyol is irreplaceable. That's why Caceres was benched and not getting so much play time.
Same thing applies for Bojan and Dos Santos.

if de ceglie was going to napoli we wouldve gotten santa. this would be a good deal, this kid must have some talent and some times a new club is what these sort of players need, a fresh start of sorts.

we already have quite a few destroyers in the midfield, thus poulsen is not needed.

And Poulsen played well last year? We bought him for almost 10 mil, now he's worth maybe 7-8 mil. Caceres was bought for 15 mil and he was the same "Flop" like Poulsen. So therefore Poulsen + 5 mil is a good deal for us imo.
So if we overpaid like Barca did with Caceres and if we bought Poulsen for 15m eur, a direct swap would have been fair now?
This doesn't make sense.

You go with their real value.
Poulsen was close to the end of his contract with Sevilla and we could buy out his contract. The law allowed us to do it. But since there's gentlemen agreement between clubs not to buy out the contracts of the players we instead made a deal with Sevilla and paid them the same money. We bought him for his real value, which was 9-10m eur.
Now, he didn't have a good season at all. An injury plagued season, mixed with some bad performances, but also some MOtM performances (Roma, Milan). He was a typical destroyer, even a CB at certain times, while in Juve he was forced to be a playmaker. I don't think that Poulsen's price should be lower than what we paid for him, but the market dictates the prices and it looks like 7-8m eur is his price now.

Caceres' price was inflated with the war between Real and Barca for his signature. I'd say Barca paid at least 100% more than his real value. Then in Barca he literally flopped.
His realistic price was actually some 7-8, i'd give you even 10m eur. Now his realistic price should be even lower than that, but his youth keeps the price at that same level.

Straight swap is more than fair in this case.

Yeah and here even Ekdal was preferred to Poulsen at some times. We don't need Poulsen and they don't need Caceres. We can try to swap them without money, but I think Barcelona won't accept it. I also feel that in the end Poulsen won't be playing for Barca next season. Maybe Fulham or another club, but not Barca.. Hopefully I'm wrong;)
I don't remember Ekdal being preferred to Poulsen at all. Marchisio yes, but not Ekdal.
I doubt Poulsen will agree to go to Fulham. They are a much smaller club compared to Juventus and Barcelona and he is certainly good enough to start with many top four clubs. Besides, he was one of the best DMs with Sevilla so a transfer to be a sub in Barcelona is quite believable.

You also have to consider that Caceres is 22 years old while Poulsen is almost 30. Poulsen didn't impress at all last season, the possibility that he will play at Barca in the way he can play (like in Sevilla) is much lower than the possibility that Caceres will impress in "Bianconero"! Because he is young and can still learn a lot and he is talented and when you believe in him he'll play better. We believed in Poulsen at the beginning of the stage and he failed to impress.

I'm gonna have to trust barca on this one. They usually scout pretty well and know talent when they see it. I say go for it.

Poulsen is a good player! But IMO he oly played decent i juventus, maybe with a couple off great played games. Let´s cut him loose to build op the defence. Lets have faith in a transfer vs Poulsen/Caceres

Ps. JUVE for life

poulsen will leave us one short of a good substitute. Maybe Zanetti will be injury free and possibly another bench midfielder may come in.

Anyway, it seems DC is staying and will be starting next season as Molinaro will be out...so i have heard anyway.

If DC proves his worth and caceres shows he has what it takes, along with chiellini juve would have a fairly young defence. Add the experienced older players and we will at least have a good bunch of defenders.

Well I'd say we should give Ekdal a chance but some peeps want to loan him instead:shifty:

We're not short of substitutes, Melo and Sissoko dont have to play at the same time. If one of them is injured/suspended, Marchisio, Zanetti, Tiago can take the other place without it being an issue.
