So then who would we get next year as a substantial upgrade for defense? My concern is if we get them now on the cheap, next year their value could double. Melo was worth 8m last year and this year is worth 25m. I'm just trying to look long term economically. If cacares and santa are hot prospects, get them both one to replace legro and the other canna. Then you have potentially 3 great cb's with ariaudo still growing.

Zapata could cost upwarde to 25m, santa and cacares wouldn't.

Great economical thinking  ....but i think we just dont have enough money to invest on youngsters we barely have enough to spend on the 1st team and the stadium already!:sergio:
but if we get Caceres on a loan deal with the option of buying him at the end of the season for a reasonable sum....that would be awesome! :juventus:

It's hard comparing to last season. Thanks to Real Madrid, the market is now inflated. We were lucky Diego joined before Real forked out that huge money for kaka and ronaldo. I'm sure if we did th deal after that he would have costed an extra 10 to 15 million.

anyway, i agree, we need to buy at least one of santacroce or Caceres, and looking at loaning one may be the better option.

Unless Poulsen and Trezeguet are both sold and we gather an extra 25 million, then we can maybe look at full buys.

This is his agent:

Not surprising he is pushing towards Juve. I haven't heard anything coming from Barca or Juve, though. So far it's only Fonseca-talk as far as I'm concerned.
I know. Our greatest forvet ever :shifty:

And you're right, so far it's only media / agent BS. But isn't that what this forum thrives on? :D

Wasn't Fonseca Trezeguet's agent when he first came to Juve?
I'm not sure if Fonseca has ever been Trez's official agent. I think daddy was in charge the whole time. But it is true that Fonseca tried to secure a transfer on behalf of Trezeguet to Valencia in 2007.

Juventus are ready to kill two birds with one stone by exchanging Christian Poulsen with Barcelona centre-back Martin Caceres.

Ciro Ferrara has made it abundantly clear that Poulsen is not part of his plans and the Dane has received offers from Premier League sides Fulham, Tottenham, Sunderland and Liverpool.

However, according to Tuttosport there could be a deal in the offing with Barcelona for a straight swap.

It would allow them to bring in central defender Caceres, a 22-year-old Uruguayan, and release Poulsen to a club he appreciates.

Caceres was brought to Spain by Villarreal for less than £1m and impressed so much in two years on loan at Recreativo Huelva that Barca paid £15m for his services.

The Uruguayan has not been able to find much first team football at the Blaugrana and so would be happy for a switch.

“Juventus are the only club that could take Caceres from Barcelona,” said his agent – and former Juve striker – Daniel Fonseca.

“The two clubs have given each other 10 days to figure out the internal details. I am optimistic, the deal can be concluded.

“Juventus insisted a great deal with Barca for this player.”

I remember I saw this guy a couple of times before he joined Barcelona.. I thinked he looked great.. Played LB then I think.

Then my friends supporting Real,Barca was both hoping they will get him.

I mean it's not easy to take a place in Barca.

And the thing I most like about this kid is that he can play as a wingback and CB.

Read that he can play RB and LB that would be amazing.. Lets give this kid a chance.. A loan deal would be a great deal
