No wonder ADL was raging
i dont think its about that. 2nd, 3rd and so on, placed team also got an increase, and then there is the fact we wont keep winning forever, so we wont be getting 181M (is that even the correct amount, sounds kinda random?) every year

Americans win Serie A rights
By Football Italia staff

American media agency IMG has agreed to pay €371m a year for the foreign television broadcast rights to Serie A, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa.

Eighteen out of Serie A’s 20 teams approved the deal, which will take effect next year and last until 2021.

However, while the likes of Beppe Marotta, Marco Fassone and Carlo Tavecchio were happy with the sale, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis branded it “mortifying and ridiculous”.

Nonetheless, the agreement will see Lega Serie A pocket double the €186m a year it received from MP&Silva.

I'm reading now that ADL was actually upset because he thought the amount was too low. The bid should have been bigger
Americans value an unpredictable outcome more than anything in their sport leagues, this is why they have that socialist draft system in NFL etc to help their weak teams. This is why EPL is so popular and Serie A, let alone Bundesliga will never be. For me, personally I dont give a shit who wins the league. I'm only bothered by how well my team is doing. But to each his own. Like I give a shit of Chelsea or Man C wins. Why would I care?
