Juve Arrange Bosman Meeting With Schwarzer
According to La Stampa, Juventus have arranged a meeting next Monday with Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer’s representatives in a bid to thrash out a free transfer move for the player.
The Old Lady are attempting to strengthen their squad ahead of next season’s two-fronted attack on Serie A and Europe.
The objective is to find two suitable players in each position on the field, and one area that needs to be fortified is that of the goalkeeper.
While Juve currently possess the undisputed number one in the world in the form of Gianluigi Buffon, his understudy Emanuele Belardi has failed to impress when given the opportunity.
Last week it was reported that Juventus were looking likely to beat off competition from the likes of Fiorentina and Bayern Munich to sign Mark Schwarzer, who is available on a free transfer as his contract at Middlesbrough runs out in the summer.
La Stampa today claims that Juve have arranged a meeting with the 35-year-old Aussie’s representative for Monday of next week, where they will attempt to thrash out a deal.
The Bianconeri have already snapped up Olof Mellberg on a Bosman, and there are reports that Firoentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi could follow him to Turin in an identical move.
