People are saying when you make as much money as these footballers do, you don't need more. Yet Del Piero still wanted more.

No they are not. Every football player goes through contract talks with the team they play in and in the end the team and the player finds a solution that suits both parties or they part ways. Del Piero played in a competitive environment for most of his career and never let money be the sole purpose to play. He could have earned a lot more during his career if he wanted.

Top players bring value to these teams that make hundreds of millions it's completely natural that they get their cut.
