Btw everyone saying it's a logical choice and more money is always better: Ronaldo and Messi are both refusing deals worth much more than Witsel's.

As a footballer at 27y its an incredibly stupied choice.

No more cl, wc or important titles, no legacy and remembered as simply a pussy mercinary.
He has 80+m to find another legacy. Honestly at that point who the fuck cares about a legacy you can do whatever the fuck you want.

To be in the position that Messi and Cristiano are, you have to be an insanely competitive individual with incredible drive. Their drive isn't money, it's trophies. Completely different types of people.

But he already could do whatever he wanted. That's the point. There's no difference. He didn't gain anything by going to China. In fact his value as a player will plummet and he's considered a joke now.

Messi and Ronaldo are obviously two legends of the game who have been totally committed to the sport and will leave behind great legacies. Witsel probably would not have. Some people just don't care about football achievements or glory as much as you, Ronaldo and Messi. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh. I was under the assumption money is everything. At least to Americans I guess.

He could that anyway....Thats the deal. He would get 4m net here and probably around 9m net in china. It makes zero difference to the lifestyle he can have.

I see your point, we all do :D

Our point is the opposite: he gained 80M and I doubt he cares if people think he is a joke because he chose money over glory.

But 4m a season is 5 times LESS than 20m a season. So how they hell could "he get that anyway"?
