But Witsel made the choice to play in Russia for 4 years and did so because he wanted to be rich by the end of it. Back then it was a choice for his family too. He has earned 4m a year during those 4 seasons. Which means he has made 16m by now. Juventus are offering him 4m a year too. Let's say he plays for us for three years. At the end of all of this he has earned 28m.

Well, he could have gone to Juventus. That's a top four club in the world. I've never really been all that excited about Witsel, but if Juventus want you to play for them, you're about as high level as they come really.

Precisely. If they don't honor their contracts, you can do fuck all about it. If a government is behind your contract, that is usually not a good thing in terms of being able to actually enforce the terms of that contract. I get your point, today it looks like it is sure money. But who knows what they decide in two years time.
