I'm still not convinced

If he plays regularly, then

1.Morata continues to play outwide
Or
2.Dybala continues to get benched

His presence is causing tactical problems and it's not like he's in super form where these problems can be ignored.

I would still prefer to see Morata and Dybala lead the attack and Pereyra play the TQ role.
Would prefer to see him more as a rotation option.Hope Allegri is not forcing himself to play him because of his experience/price tag.
Mandzukic is simply not the player he used to be!
Yes he can score and he will always be able to if you give him the proper chance but he is like invisible unless being fed!
Right now I rate Morata Dybala and even Zaza more than I rate Mandzukic - He should be 4th pick IMO
Mandzukic looks completely lost and while im all for pereyra as a trequartista, i dont see cuadrado being dropped to a sub role. Also morata needs to play, contributes way more than mandzukic

Just kick his sorry ass out of Juve.

Seeing his off form face reminds me of the stupid mercato marotta did.

I would actually disagree. In last year's Champions League run Morata scored some very important goals, but he only got 8 goals in 29 Serie A appearances. That was in a Llorente got 7 in 31 games... That was in a settled squad which would come within one game of a treble. Mandzukic is here coming back from an injury in a team which doesn't know its arse from its elbow and has 4 goals in 12 games while Morata has scored 3 in 14 games. Additionally once Mandzukic gets up to speed we can expect dogged running after defenders and the kind of grinta that Tevez and Vidal took with them when they left.

The guy's a Champions League winner and he's only 29, we've not signed Cassano.

/RUS mode, sorry for using stats to prove a point but I'd much prefer to see Mandzukic as our first choice over Morata.

Morata was a young player last year in his first season as a "sort of" starter. Many of those 29 Serie A appearances were late game subs during the first half of the year when Llorente was starter. Ridiculous to say 29 games and 8 goals. He started 11 matches in Serie A last year. That's it. He played 1321 minutes in Serie A last year, with 8 goals-5 assists. That's phenomenal. A goal or assist every 100 minutes. Very misleading and manipulative of stats for you to say 29 appearances and 8 goals. Ridiculous even.

He has 3 goals in 14 games this year because he isn't playing CF. He's played a good 75-80% of his minutes this year as a Left Wing Forward, and been asked to basically track back and play defense all the way to our box. He hardly sniffs the opposing team's penalty box with the role Allegri has him playing in.

Until Allegri allows him to play as the CF in either 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-3, one can't really judge him. He grew into that role last season. And his per minute stats, even in Serie A were phenomenal. And this year, the one match in Serie A he played as a clear CF, against Bologna, he scored, got an assist, and won a penalty.

Morata has the potential to be one of the best CFs in the world. Mandzukic does not. Morata is the future, and it's depressing that Allegri is stalling the great development he made last year by playing him as a LWF.

:agree:

Plus, as I showed above. He only started 11 Serie A games last year, and played 1321 minutes. So 8 goals-5 assists in that many minutes is phenomenal. It's very misleading for Scottish to say 29 games and 8 goals.

Ok good points. I don't know where to go for stats about games started but how does Mario look when you measure his goals and assists this year by his starts?

Morata is a young player and has had his moments but...I don't know I'm not all that convinced that he'll make it to the level of being a 20 goal striker for us. I can't put my finger on why, maybe I just have a chip on my shoulder because he outclassed Llorente so convincingly last year and I was so happy when we signed Fernando :D

Yeah that's a good point too but I presume you mean this year only?

I wanted us to get Mandzukic a year ago when Atletico signed him, and we brought in Morata. I love the guy, and think as he gains some form back, he'll score a lot for us. My bigger problem is with how we went about shipping Llorente off and bringing Mandzukic and Zaza in. It worries me that I see us shipping off Llorente for free, and signing to CFs of the same ilk for a combined 38 million. If Mandzukic has a bad season will we give him away for free too?

Honestly, I'd have loved the Mandzukic purchase if we had sold Llorente for 8-10 mil like we should easily have been able to get, and then purchased Mandzukic for the 20 mil. No Zaza. But having given away Llorente leaves a sour taste in the mouth over the whole affair.

Morata has very good per minute stats as a CF for Juve.

And contrary to what some of the more ridiculous members say, Mandzukic has not flopped at all here, thus far. He has 4 goals in 700 minutes for us thus far. 1 in CL, 2 in Serie A, 1 in Supercoppa. That's a decent return. A goal every 167 minutes. Is it great? Nope. But it is decent, and I expect him to improve that as he finds his feet and form after his injury in this new team. I actually love the idea of Mandzukic and Morata rotating and making a force to be reckoned with. That's a great 1-2 punch at CF. And in formations like 4-3-1-2 and 4-4-2, they'd be able to play together.

I stated before. Until we get Pereyra back, I'd like to see us using a 4-4-2 instead of 4-3-3. I think it suits us better.

Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Bonucci-Evra
Cuadrado--Marchisio-Pogba--Sandro
-----------Dybala-Morata/Mandzu

You could even play Mandzu-Morata at times in that formation and they'd work decently imo. Plus, a lot of tactical flexibility there, to change formation with just a single sub. And great cover in midfield.

Beppe disappointed us big time this summer. But he has been charge of us winning 4 straight scudetti, so maybe have some ounce if understanding if some don't choose to forget that and give him some leeway.

Of course, but that guy over there was more delighted to criticize Gigi against Monchengladbach than ever criticizing Beppe about any move.

3-5-2 is a mediocre formation, and Cuadrado really isn't much of a WB. He's a much better RWF or RWM, in a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2.

4-4-2 also gives us overlapping wide players whites convenient for when using two players like Mandzukic and Morata in attack. Now, I'd rather have Dybala-Morata or Dybala-Mandzukic in attack, but because of our poor mercato we don't have much in the way of players to rest Dybala.

Max aswel, whatever anyone think, he almost gave us the best season ever but those kind of credits doesn't last and the worst is a good way to start to loosing It... Hopefully everything gets better for now on
