Becauuse Allegri praises him so highly but I guess you know more about Mandzukic than he does, right? Perhaps the board should have kept Zaza and sold Mario. Maybe you should send them your resume.

It's game 2. Many new players learning to work together for the first time. We still won...both games. So, perhaps you can see why people are so irritated with the knee jerking. We aren't even full strength yet. Jesus man, wait until Pjanic is playing with Marchisio & Khedira both healthy right next to him and both strikers will be scoring goals especially with Dybala next to them.

The funny part is we aren't even full strength yet.
Thing is, I'm not complaining abut the team, I'm complaining because Mandzujic is a very limited player who offers very little in technical and build up play. I never wanted him or Zaza here so its not like I formed this opinion after the game, I'm just not a fan of these brutes who struggle to dribble the ball like Kalinic, Mandzukic, or Llorente

Allegri: 'Mandzukic is gifted'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus Coach Max Allegri claims critics are missing the real skill behind Mario Mandzukic. “He rarely gets a pass wrong.”

The Bianconeri beat Fiorentina 2-1 this evening at the Stadio Franchi and the Croatian opened the scoring, volleying in with his weaker left foot.

“People maybe don’t realise, quite a few in fact, but Mandzukic is a very technically-gifted player,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“He rarely gets a pass wrong and gave a fantastic assist to Paul Pogba, as he did to Sami Khedira the other day.

“Paulo Dybala catches the eye because he’s quick and agile, but watch Mandzukic timing his runs and choosing his passes.”

Mandzukic is also a decisive figure, as of his 10 Serie A goals scored this season, eight were openers.

A crucial figure in Bayern's CL title winning team and a starting striker for Juventus, but not good enough "technically" for ImmovableObject, 12, of Peoria, Illinois.

I don't understand why some of you praise him so highly?
Average technique, average vision, and not exactly clinical. Yes he runs forever, but I would prefer my striker to be clinical and not run around like a maniac.

Which is why I'm glad we got Higuain
I wouldn't call Higuain that clinical. He runs a lot and is great and getting chances due his movement and ability to get involved. In fact I bet Mandzukic's goals per shots ratio was higher than Higuain last season. In fact I bet he was among the very best in the league.

Also, most modern day strikers for big teams do work hard. The days where Inzagi or Trez type players who do nothing but score goals are gone, especially for big teams. There is a reason why Icardi is at Inter and not Real Madrid.

Of course the coach is going to praise him.....

There's a reason why he was shipped off from Bayern and Atletico... They upgraged and got much better all around forwards like Griez and Lewan

The point is, Mandzukic scored 13 goals (I believe) in all competitions last season which is bad... And at his best he's not exactly lighting the world on fire.

Work rate is nice and all, but you have to accompany it with quality.

Mandzukic is a good stationary passer. Passing when in motion is a problem for him. The chance of scoring from counter attacks is very much diminished if he is on the pitch On the other-hand I feel his extreme work rate allows Dybala to work less hard which allows him to maximize his talents.

Exactly he is too limited, and I dont mind Dybala not working as hard. Not everyone in this team has to be some insane runner who never gets tired.

There is a reason why Pogba was shipped from Le Havre to Man U to Juventus then back to Man U.

There is a reason why Higuain was shipped from River Plate to Real Madrid to Napoli and now Juventus.

He can't pass when in motion...only stationary passing.

That's about as dumb as people saying back in the day Marchisio only does sideways passes.
No one said he can't pass in motion. I said he is a good stationary passer. He is very good at little layoffs and whatnot. However, he's not the best when he is motion. Probably because he's not great dribbler. I'm not sure why this is an outrageous comment?

14 goals, and he only played 2600 minutes in total in the league and CL. About a goal every other game. Pretty decent numbers. His assist stats were pretty decent too.

It is 13 for Juve - don't include Croatia. And he is pretty decent in almost everything and not world class as Higuain. Gonzalo has more shots per game but this is because he shoots from everywhere and is not limited in the penalty area as Mandzu.
The Croatian could have been more successful at the Olympics instead at Euro 16 - he is a better athlete than football player anyway.
