Del Piero was so faithful for many reasons the biggest of which is that he is a classy man but up to 2006 he was in a very comfortable position that not a lot of people would choice to opt out of. Buffon recently said that there will never be another player like Del Piero for the next 150 years. And I agree with him. There can never be another player as classy, skillful and faithful as Ale. Giving the shirt to some Serie B player is truly an insult to DP. We got lucky with Baggio in that DP was truly spectacular. But no one in Serie A even comes close to the greatness that is Alex Del Piero. We should just retire the #10 jersey for 150 years. Perhaps 200 just to be safe.
