But no one in Serie A even comes close to the greatness that is Alex Del Piero. We should just retire the #10 jersey for 150 years. Perhaps 200 just to be safe.

I didn't actually know where it said that, so I just looked at the front page and it seems like they're doing the job of selling papers. No quotes, just a suggestion.

As for Verratti getting the number 10, I'm fairly sure he got it at Pescara because (from what I've read) he was a trequartista converted into a deeper role. If the player becomes good enough at Juve he can take it.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't see Del Piero's number on any player for at least a season, even though I imagine it'll harm shirt sales.
