I think Sheik has a right to be upset, but let's not forget that DP took over the number 10 jersey from the legendary Baggio at a very young age as well. It's also important to note that Lippi disposed of Baggio so he could find more room/space for Del Piero. In the end, it all worked out.

I don't think Verratti is a classic number 10, and hence he doesn't warrant/deserve the #10 jersey; neither does Cavani for that matter. Jovetic or Ramirez would be worthy of the jersey only if they have a stellar season or two with Juventus. Neymar is another who might deserve it in due time, if we ever sign him that is.
Buffon recently said that there will never be another player like Del Piero for the next 150 years. And I agree with him. There can never be another player as classy, skillful and faithful as Ale. Giving the shirt to some Serie B player is truly an insult to DP. We got lucky with Baggio in that DP was truly spectacular. But no one in Serie A even comes close to the greatness that is Alex Del Piero. We should just retire the #10 jersey for 150 years. Perhaps 200 just to be safe.

FUCK VERRATTI!!!

If Verratti is the one who wants the #10 then give it to him. He's either brainless or he has huge guts and confidence. If he's not brainless and wants the #10, then we might be getting exactly what we want and need.
If he's not the one who asks for the #10, then please don't give it to him. You might destroy the boy's career.

i think he should pick #20, like 'second #10'

his classic number should be #6 (or#5) or #8, but that reserved for marchisio

I don't know about Verratti or somebody, but number 10 should definatly not be retired, and be given to someone. No need, to live on past let us find our new number 10 as soon as possible.

When did Verratti say he wanted #10?
I have no idea. He probably never did. Nor will anyone else ask for the #10. I'm going with what Tuttosport suggested. If Verratti is offered the #10 and he accepts it with no hesitation, then give it to him. But don't force it out on anyone to take that heavy shirt.

Nope. No one is worthy of the #10 except Ale. Verratti is by no means worthy of it either. FUCK Verratti!
I don't agree with this, just as Ale wants someone else can make it theirs. Everyone would have said the same thing with Baggio-Del Piero. I'm not saying we should give it away to anyone and definitely not straight away but maybe someday we will have some young, super talented, true Juventino that might be worthy of the jersey.

Have you not read a single word I posted, Alen? NO ONE is worthy of Ale's shirt. NO ONE. Not Giovinco, not Verratti, not Messi, not Jovetic... NO ONE! Retire this holy shirt.

Oh btw, Neymar is a cocky little shit who's only good enough to show off his tricks in a circus like Brazil. He's not worthy of Juventus, let alone the #10 shirt of Ale. That wanker can go dance to Ai Seu Te Pego and fuck off!

It's not like the shirt number has to be filled anyway, you just wait until someone deserving comes along. And I don't mean 'deserving' in the sense that they have to be a second coming of Del Piero, but a player with a lot of ability and attachment to the club.

Could be Verratti in a couple of years, but not right away.

I love Del Piero, but i would give no 10 to Verrati instead of "Big Stars" like Cavani,Higuain,RvP.
No 10 should be given to Italian player, who has potencial to become great .

Nope. There can be no such player for the next 150 years. Buffon believes this, and I do to. FUCK VERRATTI!

I didn't actually know where it said that, so I just looked at the front page and it seems like they're doing the job of selling papers. No quotes, just a suggestion.

As for Verratti getting the number 10, I'm fairly sure he got it at Pescara because (from what I've read) he was a trequartista converted into a deeper role. If the player becomes good enough at Juve he can take it.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't see Del Piero's number on any player for at least a season, even though I imagine it'll harm shirt sales.
