:agree:
you can't compare those two transfers
I can do it this way...

£3 200 000 in 1996 = £4 800 000 in 2011

In 1996 Juve bought Zidane for £3,2 million while in the same year Alan Shearer was bought for a world record transfer of £15 m. (Shearer was 4,6875 times more expensive)
Ronaldo bought for £80 million is the world record transfer today. 4,6875 times less expensive than that is £17 m.

£17 m = 19m euro for Zidane
Matri is bought for 18m euro

:D

you forgot
-The howngrown rules which makes italian/english players from italy/england much more expensive then they actually worth.
- the wages were much lower back then and the differences between the country are also much more smaller.
- Because of the sheiks, tv, internet etc. the players market is exploded.
- I am sure that we never could get Zindane for that price in this time. Just look at the gourcuff transfer to Ac Milan (they paid like 15m euro for him)
- Look at what the Brazilian clubs ask for their talents. Ronaldo went for like 1m -2m euro or some small amount like that to Psv. In this time those deals will never happen again.

and then i didn't speak about the financial differences

Juve bought Zinedine Zidane for £ 3.2 million
Juve bought Marco Motta for £ 4.45 million

:touched:
Yeah, but you know how inflation has changed the game over the past two decades, both from a player perspective and currency depreciation. So they aren't very comparable unless you factor in inflation.

It's not a surprise to see this when knowing that this club had never treated and invested in the defense properly since 2006, yet we're still stuck on chasing dream signings in attack such as Aguero and Sanchez.

I'm in shock! whatever about loaning a player who you believe to have good potential and not taking up the option, but then having watched them attempt their own brand of football all season, to go and sign them is simply madness.

Marotta you need to go away very soon you plank.
