he played in the friendly yesterday, created a goal and scored a goal...he often seems to do well in these friendlies, so perhaps Conte hasn't completely closed the door on him. It makes sense for any coach to have your main Right back reserve at least fit and studying the tactics, just in case Lich gets crunched, then Sorensen is also unavailable. Maybe that is the only reason as to why Motta gets time often in these friendlies, but then again, Sorensen was deployed in his natural position for this last friendly, as CB.

We beat Olympia Agnonese 4-0 (i think)...goals from Motta, DP,Quag and Krasic...
Storari , Motta, Sorensen, Bonucci, De Ceglie, Marrone, Pazienza, Giaccherini, wKrasic, Quagliarella, Del Piero 4-3-3
Elia, Estigarribia, Toni, Pepe, Matri and primavera player Corticchia all got some time in the second half.

I've yet to see him play under conte so :boh:

Could be decent*
Thats been my point, Kasaki...that players often look completely different under different managers, and around different players. Whilst our poorest player last season, the majority of the squad were not far behind him in terms of inadequacy, and so, whilst he remains at the club, and was kept on at the club over the summer (unlike Ziegler for example, who didnt even get a chance in a competetive fixture) assumably with Conte's OK, why not give him a chance? Perhaps not from the start, but in a game we are winning handsomely and lichsteiner could take a breather for the second half...de ceglie has had 2-3 chances and shown nothing useful whatsoever. Motta deserves a chance, before getting shipped out...The Conte controlled and developed Motta, not the del neri version.

Sorensen should be kept as a CB, else it will fuk up his development. Which leaves us presently only one option if the Lichsteiner gets done.

Motta captained the 2009 Italy U21 euro squad right? He's one of the few main players from that roster who really hasn't began to live up to their potential.

Giovinco, Marchisio, Balotelli, Cerci, Abate, Criscito, Bocchetti, Ranocchia, Sirigu are all having good seasons, that roster was stacked and should have won that tournament.

Ranocchia is having a very bad season actually.

He was his usual terrible Juve self in every pre-season match he played in.
I saw a fair bit of the pre season games, and he did not seem to make any of the same consistent awful mistakes which he was making last season...as were many other players in our squad. So i would appreciate you pointing me in the direction of the games in which hwas terrible, kyle.

pre-season aside, i highly doubt conte would be using him in friendlies even, if he had zero interest in ever playing him. That would make no sense. And it'd be better to have a primavera player getting some practice with the big boys in the friendlies, rather than a player you had earmarked for departure and had zero interest in ever playing.

You don't think a player can drastically change in just a few weeks do you?
I do not.

He played in the pre season tour of the US. It was either against Club America or Guadalajara I believe and he was the weak link in our side. By far the worst Bianconero on the pitch.

Atm I don't remember exactly which other pre season matches he played in so I can't be sure but I did watch all of our pre season friendlies and I remember not being impressed by him at all.

He also plays Krasic in friendlies and it doesn't look like he plans on keeping him. Plus we don't have any other RB's.

He never makes the bench either but I can see Conte playing him in some meaningless game. He hasn't even played in Coppa so far.
