no essay...there isnt that much to write about Motta...:hi:I just wonder why he stayed at the club, especially given the incredibly brief tenure of Ziegler. Conte appeared to decide who he wanted, so why keep Motta?

Lichsteiner had a bad game against Roma. That was mainly down to pepe, marchiso and Vidal having their worst games of the season, all at once, but still Lichsteiner was nowhere near his best. i think after that last game, pepe should definitley be dropped, he didnt even seem that bothered by his awful performance, has become, a little too comfortable as a starter.

Some changes are forced by suspensions, and some I would not be surprised if Conte made due to bad form in the last game. Vidal is forced out, so its unlikely marchisio will be punished for playing Captain Invisible, but I hope Pazienza comes into the middle, NOT giaccherini, who is far too lacking physical robustness to fill the warrior vidal void.

Players play differently under different coaches, alongside different players. De ceglie's three chances so far this season have all been inneffectual, i just reckon Motta deserves a chance at some point also.
Motta :inter:
Conte didn't even put him on the bench for the Coppa so he's obviously not starting in Serie A.

I don't think that's [bolded text] true either as he looked quite disappointed when he came off.

Why do you think conte kept him? And has had him training with the first team squad?

And, Kyle, I didn't say he didn't care. he just didn't appear too upset over a performance of his that played a big role in our failure to win. And I made a suggestion that perhaps complacency is creeping in. I am a fan of Pepe, and he has been doing brilliantly, but do not want to see him in an offensive trident again, without one player in the trio with some flair and wicked cratfiness like DP or Vucinic. Two workhorses and Matri doesn't work.

I hate this player. I hope we confine this thread to the annals of history sooner rather than later. We've had a pretty horrible batch of fullbacks since Calciopoli. Thankfully, Licht is awesome on the right. Now we need another Licht on the left to forget the countless horrible acquisitions we have made on the left side of our defense too.

I can't believe Lo-Pan is asking to try him again and really wondering why he is still at the club. Can it be more obvious as why he is still here?

as obvious as it is why Reto was sent packing before stepping foot on the grass for a proper game? When we have been forced - due to that move which seems Conte's doing, but nobody can say that for sure other than Conte himself - to place one of the finest centrebacks in the world, as our left back...

And perhaps you didn't quite get my point, and I will ask the only chap I know likely to respond as to how Motta is looking in training, As Mr Digby, despite my often annoyance at his aim for objectivity, is closer to the club than most...Players under Conte, are not the same as players under Del Neri. I may well be wrong, but Amauri, for example, unwanted by Conte and Beppe, has not even been allowed to train with the first team squad, whereas Motta has. Yes, its a telling sign...of something...that rather than deploy Motta, Conte chose to play Sorensen, yet again out of position against Bologna in the coppa. I am interested in WHY, which is not as obvious as you suggest JCK.

Conte gets rid of a player we signed for free, who whilst far from wonderful, had at least shown he could be solid and competent in Serie A. Yet we keep Motta, perhaps through obligation of his loan to buy deal, but why not get rid of him also? And why not, if he is completely unwanted, like Amauri, keep him amongst the first team squad for training?

Yeah they got edited out like a couple of days after but the 'escape goat part' was there for quite a while (maybe a month or two). I just went in before to check and it was gone but I re-edited it back in.
