I wonder why we spend 4 mil in the first place to buy him ?

When in that very same season we loaned him out and he clearly looked like leaving then club !

Marotta :shifty:
Marotta respected the gentleman agreement he had with Udinese to buy him, in order to retain our good relations with them.

Consider that this might have contributed to the acquisition of Asamoah and Isla.

Why do you make a gentleman agreement to buy a player when your just loaning in that player ? So what's the point of that loan in the first place !

Probably he got his fair share from the deal. Same reason why bought Pepe and Martinez for 22m and gave away Giovinco's half for 3m.
I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories But There are some suspicious deals that IMO are weird that Marotta done in the past couple of seasons. Did he benefit from them personally ? I don't know...

They were never real loans, they were all straight purchases, everybody knew we would buy Quag, Matri, Pepe and Motta. It was never a real lan, it wasw done to be able to pay the fee in 4 installements instead of 3.

So why call it a loan, couldn't we easily find an agreement to buy Motta ( and the rest) by paying 4 installments instead of 3 ?

Another reason why I really don't like the loan/co-ownership deals that is happening in Italy, i find it stupid and unnecessary most of the time.

3 is the maximum number of installments you can have.

By making it a loan we pay a small installment for the loan and then have a further 3 installments to sign the player thus making the fee payable over 4 years.
