For the rest of the season I'd play Quag for Pepe and then in the summer bring a young SS like Jovetic to fix this problem once and for all. A hard working creator like Jojo/Lavezzi as an SS that can finish and work his tail off to make up for the "pepe-less" work ethich we would lose by taking Pepe off.

Mirko-Matri-Jojo would be perfect for next year. A cheaper solution would be Giovinco and I would be OK with that. Pepe won't cut it next year and I still am not convinced him starting is the way to finish top in the league this year.
But Jovetic cannot score and since we already have a SS who is working hard, but has finishing issues, on Vucinic, we should balance the trident with a better finisher. Esp since Matri is not the +20 finisher we hoped to, but he can help at creating.
I would prefer Jovetic to Vucinic, but we got Vucinic and now we need someone who can help Matri with scoring.
(or maybe both a SS and a prolific CF, if we field 6 forwards all times)

Personally, IMO, we need a Jojo/Lavezzi on the right to balance it out. Mirko can create on the left, but with Pepe playing on the right we are WAY off balance. Matri get's isolated and if we could put one of Jovetic/Giovinco/Lavezzi on the right with Matri in the middle, I am confident Matri would do just fine because defenders would have to contend with Mirko on the left and one of the 3 on the right.

As it stands now, its hard for Matri to find space because defenders know he poses more of a threat than Pepe so Pepe has been able to exploit that space so far this season as defenders drift centrally to watch Mirko/Matri. Give us another threat up there on the right and you will find a lot more goals being scored.

Objectively, i agree two hard working SSs make more sense in a trident.
But if Matri doesnt start delivering +20 goals, we might start looking for a new top class finisher.
Considering they are expensive and hard to get, i proposed a compromise of a SS who can score and compensate.

For serie A, i believe that the Vucinic- Matri- Quaq would be an overkill for 90% of the teams.

DP- Boriello- Pepe for subs, Giacch, EstiG, Iaq and Toni for depth.

I sure hope that we will be ridden of that disaster. Yet another catastrophic deal with Fiorentina, yet another dribbler for our collection, yet another SS to absorve our transfer budget and attention. Yet another player who seems impressive only because he plays in a mediocre team.
Heck even Pazzini would look a far better choice!
You've been wrong about so many things, but never as much as this time

Like I said, I think he would providing he has someone that can give him proper service on the right like Mirko does on the left. Sure, I agree Quag would be fine for the season, but I think we would need something better come summer for next year which is why I name the names I did.

I really think Matri can hit 18+ if we had the right player in the right side of the 433. Pepe just isn't that, so he depends too much on Mirko to create. So what happens when Mirko isn't player from injury/suspension? Well, we all know now. Esti/Pepe/Giach just can't create and Mirko isn't there to give Matri what he needs so he gets man-marked out of the games. Matri can finish, he just needs to the service.

He's so not staying here for 6 months only, unless he's even more mediocre than the other 3 useless strikers we have or badly injured.
