As for GolTV in English, I know you live right across the Bay. If you get it through DishNetwork, there's channel 407 which broadcasts in English ... though I think you need access to a second satellite to get that here. Otherwise, it's Spanish on channel 853.

yea i only get it in spanish on 618

So guys, in the States, are we SOL in trying to watch the match LIVE? I hate waiting until 4:30 to watch the match. :groan:
I'm probably far too used to the taped delay thing, given that most Serie A games start while I'm still in bed sleeping.

This will clearly be a loss if I have to watch Serie A games in English, which is perhaps the most foul language in the world for football match announcers (though fortunately Gol TV does have a Spanish language broadcast ;) ).
Riiiiight.

Though it looks now like RAI Int'l won't be carrying the Juve-Chievo game this weekend. :(

But what's this? Rumors about a new Serie A highlight program called 91° Minuto?! Those dogs! They're in injury time. :D

according to the RAI International website they are carrying the game at 4:30 est
I had to do a double-check. It changed from being suddenly off the programming schedule about 6 hours ago to suddenly being back on again, except two-hours earlier, just 5 hours ago.

Just too dizzying to keep up with... :lazy:

Alright, so we are back on for 4:30 EST on RAI? Good deal.
Guys, forgive my ignorance  , but are you saying that RAI will carry all the Juve Serie A games? Which RAI channel? Thanks.

In the US, amica mia?

I would love to add RAI, anyway---but if they carried Serie A, too--I'd be in heaven:angel:
Yeah the US gets Rai International. They have one program where they show one Serie A match live but update as soon as any goal is scored in all the other matches. They also have highlights

Grazie:D

I assume the good teams get more coverage (ie, Juve :) )?

RAI International won't cover all Juve games. It averages out to be about every third or fourth match. But this is when they have traditionally carried only two Serie A matches per match week.

This weekend is really bucking the trend, as they'll be showing four matches. I only hope that trend continues, because that's just that much more Serie A and a greater chance of seeing Juve on a given week.

This thread started because RAI lost the domestic terrestrial rights to air Serie A games to Berlusconi's rival MediaSet. Meaning it really only affects those with rabbit ears in Italy. RAI International, which is internationally distributed by satellite around the world, seems to have secured the rights to air games internationally anyway. (MediaSet doesn't have that global reach.)

RAI Int'l has its own programming, like La Grande Giostra dei Gol (at 6am Sunday mornings our time, Lou!), but they also rebroadcast from domestic stations like RAI Uno (often for Coppa Italia matches) or RAI Due.

RAI Int'l has to deal with catering to Italians around the world who often can't get enough or see too much football coverage on their network. It's pretty funny, like check out these two successive FAQ entries on their site:
http://www.international.rai.it/engl/info/faq2.shtml#7

First, we have "please show more cultural programs and less football" ... followed by "please show more sports, like football!" :D
