what the fuck is he doing with those passes when he is with his back to the opposition goal, sees nothing but tries a blind pass which is always a lost ball. he didnt do that before and lately he tries it every game.
Worse are his first time flicks instead of bringing the ball under control in our half. Tries to be Marchisio, ends up being Sturaro.

The more time goes on, the more obvious it becomes that he is pretty overrated. Classic example of someone who will only excel in mid table teams. Massive Gilardino energy.

He's got it all to be a good b2b midfielder, but the amount of poor decisions he makes lately makes him a liability. Badly needs to be put in his place and reminded he's not the midfield maestro he thinks he is.

Every game he has one or two no look passes, either a forward one or flicks that end up nowhere. He really, really needs to stick to the basics and build from there.

Bizarre how bad his decision making and passing are contrasted to his time at Sassuolo when he was one of the best midfield passers in the league.

That first half was absolutely abysmal. Actually recovered and had a decent second half.

I'm not convinced his best position is B2B. He looks far more comfortable in the middle being the deep midfielder sitting in front of defence. I thought his best performances for Sassuolo were there too. That's where he played in the second half and was much more effective/less error prone.

I hope he gets back to being average again, because hes simply woeful lately. Losing possesion in front of your box, misplacing easy passes. Get a fucking grip!

I don't mean to be that guy that blames the coach for everything, but I'm putting this on Allegri and his tactics. This is not the only time we've seen a player in the same position make similar mistakes when we know they are capable of better.

I actually like how he plays defense lately. He's omnipresent and clears a lot near or from inside our box. Only today he cleared/blocked 7 shots, which is a terrific stat.
But his offensive play... the less I say, the better. 75% pass success for someone who was brought to do the job Pirlo and Pjanic used to do is pathetic.

That's the issue and we need to get out this mindset of using a regista. There aren't many around today and I can't think of any I'd want. Locatelli isn't a good enough passer for it, play him in a role that puts him far better.

Well it needs to be said :p. A lot of tuzzers are in my opinion unjustly turning on him. He has been great on the defensive end, but no one highlights that and instead the discussion revolves around missed passes or bad decisions, something that is clearly affecting almost all of our players. There has to be a reason for it.

Oddly though, he was at Sassuolo… he was an 88% completion passer on over 80 passes per game, and led the league in progressive passes so it wasn’t like he was just dinking the ball sideways and back. He’s regressed in terms of passing pretty badly since his first 4 months here. He’s not a regista, I agree on that, but at Sassuolo who was developing into one of the better deep-lying playmaker/CDM hybrids out there. Nown he looks lost in possession.

This just happens here somehow. Kulusevski Serie A’s best U23 player prior to coming to us, Bremer best defender, De Ligt became Golden Boy, Vlahovic (even though he’s scoring) was destroying the Serie A, etc. We just don’t have that positive momentum anymore which we had the last decade.

It’s easier for any player arriving in a team that’s winning with a more attacking approach. Sadly this is our sad truth for now

Or..

He simply isn’t cut out to be someone who will succeed at a top team. Has a very ‘ mid table team exceller’ vibe about him which a lot of players do. They will be incredible at the Sassuolos and the Fiorentinas, but as soon as they take a step up to a team that aspires to win titles, they never let up to the expectations.

Loca isn’t the biggest problem in the team, but he clearly isn’t the messiah everyone expected him to be after the Euros either.

You mean our best player this season? ;)

He isn't our best player this season you doofus. He's been mediocre since the World Cup. Yes, he was decent/solid before it, but in a season that's been total dogshit, there's nothing to write home about. It's not like he's been our best player in a season where we're leading the table by 15 points or making waves in the CL. During the earlier part of the season, when we crashed and burned, he was arguably our best player, which says a lot about how bad everyone else was and how pathetic our season has been/had been at that point.

Definitely not a 7 million a year player - not even worthy of 4-5 million a year.
