If he is that good he should be the one who scored that goal instead of Nico Gonzalez
Nico be like, what the fuck are you trying to do, control the ball with 3m goals in front of you, hit that shit

He fear to hit the ball first time, fear that he will miss, if he miss what will the fans say about him, are they will booed him again. If he was the only player in front of the goal in that condition, that wont become a goal

Every move that he make, is safety guaranteed but with safety play you can only have sterile play, no risk no gain

The capitano that this fanbase deserves, the absolute epitome of mediocrity, can’t wait for him to take even more leadership responsibilities and make the armband his own. :baus:

We are so fortunate he fits in well with Motta’s system, otherwise he’d have been only a decent depth option to have and we couldn’t have praised him for his consistently dominant performances in the 11 draws we managed with Parma, Empoli, Lecce etc.

Has Locatelli been the only player who has been performing reliably well under Motta? Besides Bremer obviously.
Let’s be serious… Coincecao, Cambiaso, McKennie, Kalulu, Gatti have all been at the very least just as reliable and inconsistent throughout.

In fact if i am to compare game winning performances i’d say that even Mbangulla, Vlahovic or Koopmeiners have all been more decisive than him in the games we’ve actually won.

Locatelli has been alright this season, neither great nor the most consistently reliable player we’ve had, but truth is he’s been doing a better job as a CDM this season than in the previous one where the standards regarding him were at an all time low, can also understand some of the criticism is not always warranted, however when it comes to his vision and decision making he still has a lot to work and improve on before talking about him as some sort of reference point and leader in our midfield.

Yep agree with everybody about Cambiaso and McKennie. I missed a few games in November and December and people were talking like Andrea had been dropping the ball a lot. Just forgot McKennie whoops.

FC7 yeah, but his crossing still needs work. I suppose at his age there's bound to be something that needs improving. Kalulu I totally forgot and has largely been brilliant but he's also had some mammoth brainfarts.

Being decisive isn't Locatelli's job though, his role is earlier in the attacking and defensive phases. Imo he's been superb in making himself available to receive the ball, and his passing has been brilliant. The games I've seen without him we clearly miss him in a big way. We need to figure out what we're doing with Thuram and Koopmeiners (?) around him because he's one of few who we've found a defined role for, and our best performers when in that role.
